Hi all,

Today I gained a new customer - £20 monthly. Lovely lady however her house is big and she openly admits she's had trouble retaining windys. That's great news for me! The windows were awful - took me ages but I got them done and now my monthly maintenance cleans will be nice and easy.

I have a problem though. She has a window above a conservatory and while she accepted I wouldn't be able to reach them, she was clearly pretty glum about not being able to have nice clean windows. The conservatory is ridiculously long and I doubt my clx-27 would even reach it from the edge. Any ideas? - Pic attached, conservatory is on the right. No side access as there's a neighbours property..

There is a way. Either bring a step ladder with you, just for this job, then you can get over the conny. Maybe they have one handy, all the better. Ive got a similar property to do and they just leave the step ladder for me when I do it.

Pain with a CLX far too flexible.

Talk to neighbour. You may sign a new customer.

Talk to old lady and clean them from inside, glass will be easy but she won't see much of the frames on that one.

Or just manage her expectations right.

Never used a clx apart from my 4’ pole but slx and extreme latter Is what I Use,, I have a couple where I have use step ladder just a couple of rungs up can make all the difference.

Jobs like this is why I always have a 2m single a frame ladder on the roof rack, rest against conny and up I go, amazing what a couple extra feet hight does

I have a job like that. I used a small aluminium hop up platform which got the job done. However, with the pole fully extended and virtually horizontal it’s hard work and I don’t think the poles are designed to be used like this. I told my customer although I can reach it and I have cleaned it on this occasion I am not risking breaking a £700 pole just to clean that one window. They understood, all good and now I don’t need to worry about it.

If they insist they want it cleaned, offer to clean it from the inside as and when required but at a premium.

Tell them if cleaning the window involves a potential risk of injury to yourself or damaging an expensive pole then it's a no go, still bewildered that a conservatory on the side of a house is 20ft wide or more ?

With windows such as this - I tell them that I can either clean it the best that I possibly can from the floor/couple of rungs up a ladder or I can clean it from the inside which will incur an extra fee.

You'll find that they want it done from the inside but are never actually in when you arrive, so it gets left or, if able, done from a couple of rungs up on a small ladder.
