Lichen on panel

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Lol no solar Steve and I had a very big fall out ???? , Ime still trying to find out what they use but they are very cagey one of my customers phoned them up and posed as a potential customer for having there panels cleaned he asked what chemicals they use and Steve wouldn’t say just said it was approved by the panel manufacturers, the guy pushed and said he wasn’t happy unless they told him what they intended using and he was then going to get on to green gen who fitted the panels to check it was ok , they quoted him £1200 plus vat to clean 16 panels . We ended up doing them for £450 plus the cost of a scaffold tower took us a morning to do . ????
£450?!!! Is that really the going rate?

Either pressure wash them with a 300 mm flat surface cleaner , or scrape them using a scraper on a pole then scrub with wfp ,if you are really keen a spray with biocide after will kill off any remaining root systems and surrounding area contamination helping to keep the panels cleaner longer , However I don’t think the manufacturers would approve of either method but it’s the only cost effective way to do the job , sometimes unless you have the experience and kit ones like this are best avoided just do the dusty ones .
@Pjj - Wouldnt Tfr or Ubik2000, be sufficient ?. Just apply spraying on end of brush attached to wfp..pure water & solution, in 1...Result?.

They are ok for loosening general road grime but not a lot of use at removing licken of other growing organisms , you need to kill the plant by using hypo or biocides .

If covered in liken etc then that would be our cheapest rate we do other domestic 16-30 panels like this up to £,1000 a clean depending on access and how bad they are , but try not to take on to many as we all hate doing them , not all will pay this but most will as the accept they have to be cleaned and struggling to get anyone else we get a lot of jobs that solar Steve has quoted for and compared to his prices we are very cheap ???

You have to clean them on a day with Temperatures around 2 to 7 C° ( just an example ) and when it has been raining in the night or they have been mositened due to recent rain or damp weather... This should considerably soften the lichen up. What you should not do is trying them on a warm or hot day.... and if you have to do them on a hoz day .. do them very early in the morning so they can pre soaked
