Pump / Controller Callibration

Cheers poles. Was more looking for info from lads with 100 meters on reels used daily as deciding what to put on my new reel. But thanks. Now I know what to put in my backpack /emoticons/smile.png

I have 2 reels with 8mm hot hose on from Xline, thats how they came when I bought my system off them, had no reason to change, good stuff takes abuse and feeds water well, I hear using 100m of 6mm can really strain the pumps if used hard daily on a good flow rate.

Warm water will flow through a smaller pipe (bore size) easier than cold will.

It's the same principle with 100 metres you may need to raise it trial and error

Not if calibration is correct. Had the same pump for 7 years with 6mm hose and still pumping like Jodie marsh :thumbsup:

Interesting thread. Tomorrow i am cutting 30 meters off my 6mm hose and fitting on 50 meters of Gardiners reinforced pole hose.
With the way my roller system is setup it could make for a very nice setup.

Or explode.

Remember to adjust the calibration if you do this damo

You cant calibrate them. They use the pressure switch on the pump.

I see so wont these cause too much pressure in the system and cause leaks and air ?

If your system is set up correctly then no.

I wouldn't use a non calibrated controller though.

Unnecessary EXTRA strain,power and pressure build up.

The power aspect is another bonus to a correctly set up controller, I run my system direct from van battery, no split charge relay or anything, all day without issue.

I wish i could do that, but i want another electric reel. I have to have one battery per reel.

Were is the best and cheapest place to buy pump and controller as I am in this middle of switching from kabold trolley to van mount ?

I would using liquid logic digital controller and the pump they sell. This is from Gardiners.

When I re-calibrate my pump it's goes to 99 down to 11-20......but it's then struggling to operate at this level (e.g flow too low / dripping out)

I then manually set it to 35-40 and it works fine. It's a twin DI set up.

But......I've got on going leak problems which is doing my head in. I've changed the connectors from metal to the blue b&q ones, got some rubber O rings for the vessels, taped everything, cleaned filters in vessels with an old tooth brush etc etc..... but the pressure on the vessels is still too much and it's leaking.

Does anyone have any tips - I'm wondering if my pump might be struggling? (2 years old)
