Hi all. I'm trying to install a split charge relay in my van but am having problems getting the wiring from the van battery through to the footwell in the cab. I've got a renault kangoo van, has anybody got an idea of where/how to get the wiring through? any advice much appreciated

Maybe take the carpet out and have a look what's behind there. On my old berlingo there was a plastic blanking plate where the steering column would have been if the van was left hand drive. I just drilled through the plastic bit. You could always just drill a hole where there is safe access either side and use one of these Screenshot_20180911-205556_eBay.jpeg

I did have a look at that as it was the first thing I could of that might work, the issue I seem to be having is the engine bay is rammed with everything and if i drill that blanking plug I just dont know how I can get anything down the engine bay to grab the wire. This has drove me mad for 2 days trying to work it out. I got quoted over £100 today just to drill a hole and feed the cable, but its not driven me that mad just yet

If you drill the blanking plug from inside and push the wire through until its on the ground outside is there a space in the engine bay where you can fit something like long thin bit of bendy wire like old style coat hanger to where the wire is on the ground ? If so from under the van tape the wire to it and pull it up

Hi

I have done a couple of these on a l200 on a sprinter on a crafter. All diffrent lay outs.

The one thing the same on all was finding where the wiring harness goes through to the engine. It has a thing similar to above eBay screen shot. In all vehicle they had wiring going through found the plug and uses a screw driver to wedge a hole fed the wire through. On the Mitsubishi I did have to take the glove box out and other bits bobs. Then I ran it under the plastic flooring. Keep on going you will get there.

?

I had a difficult one with My last van. The easiest way I found with that was to route it through into the wing  then through behind the door into the cab.
I tried this earlier from inside the cab push through the wing bit it just came to a full stop. My old man was helping me try to sort it. I though about taking the front wing off to see if i could figure it out but i probably wouldnt be able to fit it back together. Do you mean from the engine bay side push through the wing into the cab?

What ever is the easiest side to get in to. Pop the screw driver in the side of the plug wedge a hole feed the wiring through pull how much you need from the other end. I now it's always harder than it sounds but a bit determination will get it done. Or pay the £100, I do think that is a bit steep like. But you only get what you pay for so that I imagine it will be a tidy job for £100.

I tried to get the glovebox out yesterday as I know the main wiring goes through like a circled rubber and straight out into the engine bay. I couldnt completely remove it to get to it though. When i put my hand up behind the glovebox its too tight and awkward in angle to push the wire through. Iv tried so many ways. I was on my drive at 1am this morning using the torch on my phone to try finding a way and probably looked like i was trying to steal my own van
