My Reading out of the Tap is normally 0073 and the Resin normally lasts 6 Weeks, but yesterday after 3 weeks since the last change the reading out of the Resin Tanks was 0006, checked Tap Water Reading and it's now 108 any one else checked this?

My tap reading has gone from around 0075 to 0144 in the last couple of week also birmingham!

from what i got told we now get our water from a difrent res but unconfirmed

Mine used to be 75/90 last few weeks it's been 115...West Yorks...do a friends house less than 4 miles away and the other week decided to top up there mid afternoon...wish I'd checked the TDS first...it was 248.

Global warming = heatwave, heatwave = water shortages. Water shortages = water companies mucking about changing us from one supply source to the other and as a result our tds has gone up

I was told months ago that this was planned having read up on it it's going to happen every 2 years let's hope it may lower it even more the cost of Resin is ridiculous my customers assume my water costs nothing to produce and the odd one I tell when they question my price are shocked they don't know I played 700 quid for a pole.

Yeah it’s a tough un to cope with when costs rise sharply, i nearly had a heart attack when i had R.O. Thoughts going through my mind. I choke at the diesel pump so combine that with the shock of using all that extra resin i was most unimpressed.

Stick to your guns though fella. If they try and knock me down or question prices i just move on.

I lost out on a sizeable job the other day to someone who went in at less than half my price but when you add up what your equipments worth, time allocated to complete job, access issues etc etc then only a newbie or a complete nutter would have gone in so low. It’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes ?‍♂️ best to bite the bullet & wait for better days

Well said and eloquently put.

I'm concerned I've phoned Severn Trent and they are not aware of any changes in water quality I'm not sure if it's my TDS meter

like I have said mine has been going up for a few weeks.

B32 area. Not sure if all of brum gets the water from the same res but eitherway it’s definitely been rising.

Its been like this for months and months since summer at least in Birmingham mine used to be around 70ppm its now around the 100 mark even higher i went double di cause of this and still only getting 6 weeks out a bag of resin. I dont think its anything to do with dredging the reservoir. We have been lucky in most parts of bham for years with low ppm but i carnt see it going back to normal i did think it was cause of the really hot summer and water shortage but its still eay higher than normal.

They are Dredging The Elam Valley Resovoir and bringing in water from Staffs but they haven't started yet, I am double DI and was getting 12 weeks out of a bag of resin now it's going to be 6 weeks shocking I may start using Spotless.

Spotless are you mad! Its about £20 to fill a 500 litre tank. Think your self lucky most people have to use RO we've been lucky in bham for years. Well it carnt just be that as mines been in and around the 100 mark for months now. Hope it does lower but 6 weeks out of a bag of resin aint too bad considering how much work you get. When was the last time you checked your tap tds as i bet you didn't even notice untill a few weeks back but believe me its been mega high for at least 3 months now in bham. So carnt be the reservoir.

This would make sence its been say since June ish I noticed the ppm rising I’m lucky 99% of myvwork is trad so it’s neither here or there and spotless no thanks couldn’t justify the extra cost.
