Yeah I've still got the pole hose connected to the main Hise with rectus 21, but I've ordered a barb reducer to replace it with, so no more rectus fittings!

Sounds a neat idea, I also like the idea of maybe just using 100 metres of pole hose straight through. Only worry there is kinking as it does get soft when using hot.

Pole hose is too thin for the pump really, it's only 5mm so the pump would be under immense strain mate, plus flow Rate would suffer a lot...

Sorry to bump old thread. Interested in doing this, are there any issues using JG fitting, does the water just run out of hose reel when disconnected, am I better off using a rectus on the reel side?

I tried fitting this to an 18t pole last week with an experienced mate, could not get the ejector to work at all, have now tossed it in the pile of spares I shouldn't have bought.

My JG fitting leaked , tried a new 1 it leaked, iv a rectus fitting and it's good until you extend it. It catches inside the pole and can come off , you have to put it up easy for it not to catch. It's really a complete gimmick you would be better with one of these uni valves if they come out

Just buy the conversion kit, it works perfectly. There are no JG fitting to leak.

The univalve is as yet untested but a brilliant idea. I will wait for it to be used and get some feedback on it before I buy, but then at £30 it's worth a punt.

Another manufacturer has a similar device being tested so hopefully there will be a choice.

This isn't a gimmick. I have worked this way since November 2014. I use a rectus fitting reel side @Rob Knapman, and once connected pull the fitting inside the pole , where it stays all day so never snags. (keep the first extension out by 6 inches) I havnt used JG fitting because sooner or later they will fail after connecting/disconnecting a number of times.

I have never had a problem with it, never,, at all,

I did this last week to my pole works perfectly but I have the fitting sticking out a tiny bit and disconnect it from the bottom of the fitting never gets caught going up[emoji1303]

Having my pole out the 6 inches would be hitting my worker on the back off the head in the van lol

Okay!!! We keep going over this, I am backpack only and am using up to 30 meters of 5mm pole hose. I can't speak for anyone using 100 metres but I get no kinks it's lighter than microbore and it's easier to gather in. I also get NO leaks at all from my Wrekin Pneumatics JG equivalent connectors, infact I'm still using the same ones I was using 2 months ago, I keep banging on about the quality of this Sureclean pole hose but here of no one else using it, it's really tough and even if you're using minibore or microbore you should really consider using this as just pole hose, if you speak to Arthur at Sureclean he will tell you about this hose it's high pressure and cars can run over it. It cost me about £1 for a virtually tubeless conversion and it works 100%, don't know why but there are no 5mm female eeze snap connectors on gardiners website now but 5mm hose stretches on to it with hot water. One interesting point: I came up with an idea to stop leaking from JG in the vehicle, cut off about 4 or 5 inches of hose attach a female eezi snap to it, store it in your pocket when working when putting hose away in van plug your little hose connector device into tour pocket, I'm gonna have to start charging commission for this advice, remember DON'T use those black JG connectors!

I may add to this I've had problems with backpack pump pulsing, I haven't been to work since Gardiners returned the backpack since repairing it due to personal problems, I had an email from them saying the faulty parts have been replaced but I haven't been told what the faulty parts are? I have asked but have had no reply as yet, this did suggest to me after reading someone suggest using too much pole hose puts strain on the pump, I don't believe this is true as when I had both backpacks last summer using this Sureclean hose they both worked fine.

The faulty part was the pump, which was replaced.
