I only usly need like 20 meters of hose out on 90%of jobs so I’m finding the warm setting plenty hot enough for me I only put it on the hot setting for for some commercial jobs on sea front were I have 70 meters out and it’s absolutely steaming hot then or for gutter cleaning

Your asking for trouble mate...charge up your batteries every night or they'll be toast within 6 months.

its a 9kw heater just going with what streamline say see how it goes battery gets checked every night 12.9 when i get to end of the day 12.4 give or take they said if it drops below 12 charge them ive brought a new charger just incase ill keep updated on how it goes

So 9 kw with only one heat exchanger ? Must be set up like Ionic’s then ?no wonder the waters hot

Waters piping hot mate even the low setting it quite hot you can here water trickling in the heater I was surprised as Kevin 250 said they don’t get as hot as a gas heater but mine is steaming hot

In the summer months it will get hotter much quicker and won’t lose as much heat through the hose and will heat the tank up we sometimes have to turn the boiler off at lunch time as the water in the tanks that hot you can’t hold the hose

I have to turn my heater off at lunchtime sometimes (on a hot day in summer)as its physically impossible to hold the hose it's that hot

Mines a 9kw with one heat exchanger too.

It helps massively with bee spots,insect marks,etc which seem to plague large parts of my round in the summer,it's splattered all over
vehicles, frames and glass.it seems to be worse year on year.

My mate has the streamline 5kw one and it only goes up to 60c on the temp gauge he gets warm water at best from the brush ide personally be disappointed with that they no longer sell the 5kw just 9.1kw

What are the 2 red 'buttons' for?
Originally the heatwave had a temperature guage for the internal circuit's hot water temperature, an on off switch and that tiny green led. That was it.

Firing up the boiler before the engine is runnings is fine

I know this is an old posting. The reason why suppliers suggest running the engine is that the heater's starting current is done by the van's alternator rather than the leisure batteries. That is obviously only possible if the van is fitted with a scr or b2b charger.

Your vehicles aren't fitted with either, so it makes no difference when you start your heaters.

The other reason is that by starting the heater on the way to the first clean, the heater is already hot; important if you have a boiler supplying 2 cleaners. If your hose reels are plumbed into the tank, it also allows the water in the hose reel to be hot on your first job.

Hi spruce it has too switch’s a on and off and the other is hot or warm and a green led light they say start van then switch on heater on so van takes over the power it has a smart charge relay thing I turn on flow control first to monitor the battery charge also they say it takes 5 to 10 minutes for the heater to be ready to use water comes out hot pretty quick

i have quiet a bit of early morning comercial work so as soon as i get out the van i leave engine running put the return to tank on set up cones ect buy that time its coming out warm already i found on the first start up it uses quiet a bit of battery so thats y i leave engine on for a few minits wile it gets to 82c if im driving bit of distence ill pull over after 10 minits chuck the return to tank on then keep driving to first job

I never focused on this photo before, but I see that they didn't supply a thermostatic mixer valve. They are now copying what Ionics are doing by using the Webasto to regulate heat output.
Does the pump run all the time bleeding excess hot water back to the tank like Ionics does?

No the pump doesn’t run continuously it only runs when I attach the hose to return to tank witch I do between jobs
