van mount tank slosh!

I have the same tank and the same issue. I will turn it round one day. The baffle should run across the van and will cure the problem if you turn it round. Don't bother putting anything in the tank, you can buy specially designed balls to put in but you literally need to fill it and they aint cheap.

i agree the tank is the problem. its a stupid design jake. green its not so easy to rotate it. iv welded angle irons on all sides to the floor with the steel brace over the top.i had it the other way around first. put a pic onn facebook for pump advice and the posts poured in id fitted the baffle the wrong way. it took a whole day to rotate it. cutting old welding out and re doing it. i took the advice from a tank fitter on there. i know the slosh is less noticable side to side but i beleive its far more dangerous for the handling sidways than forwards. either way around though im not happy and i need to sort it. thanks for advice

Prior to that tank, my previous one was fitted with the baffles across and I had no issues at all. I've run mine like this for over a year now and just put up with it, it's not much hassle for me to change it either- just can't be bothered, however, it does feel weird at times, like being on a ferry!!!

if you look at all tank designs the baffles are desinged to stop sideways slosh so i dont know what to think. it should be baffled both directions.

I have not heard this anywhere before, of course I don't have the issues of listening to 'fitters' on a forum (everyones an expert)

came from a tank fitter. im no expert so im at the mercy of internet advice just like i have no idea whether you know what your talking about. no offence but you see my point surely.

anyways iv cured it now. 500 playballs with holes in them. so now its baffled all directions. job done lol

I have the 650l X-line tank, the clear older version, it's pretty good but does slosh about a bit at certain levels. The new X-tanks look good and no doubt far less slosh, just far more dosh!

put 500 playballs in it and it wont slosh no more. use a soldering iron to burn holes in them first. time consuming but worth it. very happy now as i couldnt cope with it as it was

Those Xline tanks are a different scenario to yours mate. Lay that first tank flat and I assure you it would produce the ferry syndrome. In it's current position there isn't enough space for the motion of water mass to gather a significant enough amount of momentum to cause ferry syndrome- that's why it's in the position it is and the baffles are where they are.

yes i dont disagree with that. i know its different being flat as theres a bigger movement area. im happy to cure the slosh in all directions now though. i do not want to be taking a corner fast and 400+kg slosh sidways. thats gona make you crash faster than a front to back slosh imo.
