Anyone using the newer shaped vauxhall combo as my old van is getting near the end of its life, was considering a transit connect but many have mentioned the wet belt problems that as put my off.
900kg to 1000kg is perfect for my needs as only use 350l maximum nowadays as I have cut back my workload.

Have you considered a vw caddy? There was one guy on here who had one that had gone over £300,000 miles with very little trouble. Can`t remember who it was though.

The Transit connect L2 240(payload 936kg)doesn't have a wet belt mate. It's just a standard belt.
Not considered a caddy might look into one of them.

All the newer from 2017 I think transit connect have wet belts I was told?

Id read that the combo and citroen berlingo and fiat doblo and renault kangoo are pretty much the same thing, not sure to be fair. I think it said you get a better price paying for a fiat doblo purely because of the name badge. Im looking at vans too and was leaning to the doblo if cheaper but just as good.

Sometimes they have different engines but they are all the same shell. We have a 63 plate Doblo, it has a different engine than the Combo of the same era.

@Den the new shape combo seemed quite good value to me recently too. Seem to have shot up in the last few weeks. I tried to pick one up from th auctions but they ended up going for more than they were on Autotrader. They’re now much closer to the price of the Peugeot Partner or Citroen Berlingo. I’m replacing two and I’m reliably told I need to make my move before Xmas as the prices rocket in January.

No adblue with mine(2017).I thought it was the custom that had wet belts not the connects.my bad!
Ask Gary Google and all is revealed, the more I look into Ford and wet belts I'd avoid one like the plague £1,000 bil or more every 4 years basically my wife and I were considering a custom that has been totally ruled out as off this morning I found this https://fordtransit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=225908 and it has put me right off.

It will be interesting to see if this actually happens at all because I have been watching vans for a few weeks and I'm seeing some just sitting at dealerships and private sellers for over 2 months, I picked up a well-priced Berlingo with less than 50k on the clock last summer because the dealer had two of them for 3 months and hadn't been able to sell them.

I was looking at those Combo’s recently. Less than 40k, no more than 10 years old. They were up for £6.4-7k. Where our office is there is a chap who buys and sells cars, has an account at the auctions etc. He was able to show me where the vans originated from just by the number plate. He went down to the auctions, the next lot going through had approx 10k less miles. They were piling through the auction at £7k plus fees. The week later on Autotrader the first lot had sold and those new ones were up. The price had gone up to £9-10k. This is much closer to the price of the Berlingos etc.

My new plan is to go to the auctions with him this Thursday. I want two vans but I think I’m going to go for 2 more Citroen dispatch or similar.

I’ve got a 16 plate transit. No wet belt because it’s pre Adblu but they’re also not euro 6. Outside of the wet belt issue they’re just a little large for the places we drive.

How do you find the doblo? good payload I think but varies as they do. The ford connects can have decent payload but also have the wet belt issue in the newer models I think
