I put an ad on gumtree a while ago as I needed someone for a couple of days work with a thought that I'd be able to give them more work as time went on... I got like a million replies so I saved a few contacts that sounded like they knew what they were doing but I decided on this young lad... Night before he text saying sorry but couldn't make it.. Flippin idiot, failed on the first hurdle, never called him again. So I needed a guy today and called one of the guys I had saved and he said yeah that's great, I'll work. This morning went to his house, no answer and still hasn't got in touch with me...

Has this happened to anyone else, being let down by workers? Made me think twice about employing people.

When I was a kid (14-16ish) I did paper rounds before and after school, washed neighbours cars etc... Flippin youngsters... Thought they'd jump at the opportunity.

Not now as most kids are bone idol wanting an easy life and prefer to live out of their parents pockets instead.
