Worth just using a di only for first floor windows in hard water area?

I live in Bournemouth and it's a very hard water area so obviously an RO would make sense if i get into th?is game seriously. But at the moment I am just doing bungalows. If I start on houses and use a DI just for the 1st floor and do trad on the ground floor is it worth it?

I was thinking of this because I live in shared house and a cheap RO would give out a lot of waste water and not sure the landlord would approve! With a DI ( I was recommended two 11 litre resin vessels) I could try it and then if I move onto an RO I would already have the DIs which I would need anyway? I could also just keep all my equipment in the back of my car as well.

Put it this way Slippy! Doing it that way for now could save your life! If your using a ladder until you get sorted with an R.O then you could fall from height and any ideas of a wfp business is gone! Good luck

That is going to be cumbersome & potentially problematic with some customers. You would be better off at minimum having saying three 25L drums filled with pure water made at home through the DIs & refill a Backpack for the top windows.

Ensure you waterproof areas of your car where you'd store the water.

Nothing wrong with using a ladder (safely)

You'll not fully realise until you go wfp Davey that a ladder is a last resort and can never be used safely! It can be made safer by use of an ankalad stabiliser but it just takes a slip or a gust of wind and your history!

At least you have your Ankalad fitted smurf.

Your still doing plenty of conservatory and gutter work anyway smurf? I'm becoming snowed under with jobs in the last couple of weeks, phone hasnt stopped! I've just decided not to get myself tied in knots over it and do the jobs as and when I have the time! Youse all know how it is! Customers want the work done immediately and you have to try and please the big jobs in particular ! Got a school to quote for tomorrow and of course they'll want it done for peanuts ! They'll be disappointed !

Unfortunately some jobs you have to use ladders for

I have been trad since 1991 and will never take unnecessary risks (used to and fell once)

I think I am as safe as I can be but I know what you mean
