Taxi Driving

Tuffers

Recommended Posts

Interesting tuffers,I've heard window cleaners who claim to be window cleaners in my area working every night taxi driving.

BUNGLE Taxis 01234 5678910.

Or for an unreliable and dodgy window cleaning service ring above number after 1pm and before 5.

more ££ in the windows definitely.. my brother is a taxi driver.. works every friday saturday and sunday night.. takes 2 days off during the week.. does ok, but says you have to work the weekends.. there would be days you would sit for hours and only get a handful of jobs, just about covering costs.. but suppose it depends on the depot and location... i also have 2 customers who gave up taxis recently because it just wasnt paying..

but like window cleaning, taxi driving is easy, and lots are doing it.. theres a few big companies in belfast, some with 700+ drivers.. about £150 w week depot rent = alot of money for the owners...

Do you reckon there's more money in it than window cleaning?

No, definitely not. As with any business it’s up to the ability of the individual. The equipment or knowledge is available to all, its people that are different. So you’re going to get successful taxi drivers & successful window cleaners. The control with pricing is better & higher for window cleaning.

There was money in it years ago, my dad did it, worked all hours god sent, but was on a good 70k a year, with a very small tax bill. as with w/c, more competition, and cheaper price companies popping up all over the place doing it cheaper.!!

Maybe it’s the cycle of business trades; I remember in the 80’s becoming a plumber became common knowledge and that you could get a very high income for what Joe public use to think ‘it’s just a plumbing job’

I don’t think window cleaning is there yet with wfp; I’ve met about 11 or more local customers coming into window cleaning, just within the past 24 months who all earn in excess of £50k now. Listening to there rapid progress is interesting, if non experienced person can start to earn that amount of money in a short amount of time, it will attract more people.

Wfp has made window cleaning very appealing to people who wouldn’t even entertain the idea of becoming a window cleaner, couple this with the potential earnings – and it has the potential to become an over saturated profession - but at this time it’s all too easy to make very good money, now, so don’t waste this golden time.

That's the trouble Richard as so many are getting into window cleaning using wfp kit then charging way to little to gain work to try to compete with others in their area.

Saturation is getting a big problem in my area also low pricing. Only a couple of days ago I watched someone at the front of my house take out a brand new trolley system from the back of his car. The guy pulled the trolley along, wife carried the larger pole and the daughter carried the shorter pole. They were knocking doors to see who wanted their windows cleaned. Not one household took them up on their offer. Go figure :Image3:

Funny thing is - if they approached window cleaning differently i.e. just by having a minimum of £15, £20 or £25, there not competing with large number of window cleaners right from the start.

You become more accustomed for this type of work, and even though lower price window cleaners will have some work at a higher rate they will never be as accomplished at winning it as someone who does it all the time.

I know I am specialise in a particular customer/work and win it when I want more - its as simple as that, from what I read on the forum Smurf you pretty good at conser roofs.
