Hello, I want to make my water tank in the van a hot water system, watching videos on how to, but abit of advice always good, if i get a 3kw heater with built in thermostat, can I plug this in a extention and then leave it over night or is this a no?

Safer to fit a 2kw electric element with heavy duty extension cable uncoiled and outside electrical box fitted by a qualified electrician.
