Just goes to show

And the best bit he is using a washer running at 8 u.s gallons per min (30 lpm). No wonder the flat surface cleaner hovers when he hold it up:rofl:

Most of the roof cleaners do it with the brush most of the time pressure wash is not recommended-you may damage the roofs tiles.

how does it work if a tile or 3 breaks [or was already cracked and you didnt see it] when doing a roof clean?

Was gonna do it today but nowhere to hire roof ladder from on sunday

Did a few windows today though..a few insides as people at home sundays and a gutter..

Might have a day off one day

That's why unless you are a competent roofer and can do repairs aswell cleaning roofs I think should be really left alone.

The amount of times when doing gutter cleans I've see broken/slipped tiles and missing/loose chunks of mortar is unreal.

I would also think not only is it very dangerous and H&S frown on ppl pressure washing roof the process will take years off the roof tiles longevity.

I can competently repair roofs as I have enough experience but I wouldn't pressure wash one ..I will do it by hand and would replace any tiles if I broke some which is unlikely

Not may cleaners if at all have your roofing experience /emoticons/wink.png

I was just after advice how to actually clean it

Do I use a wire brush and trowel and what's the crack with this hypo lark?

Do I spray it to restore the colour after ar just scrape all the **** off?

Also while we have been having this conversation I posted my facebook page on the local sell site again and have 4 quotes to do tomorrow morning now..one in a very affluant part of the nearby posh village..just gonna search the maps for a looksee now

This facebook thing seems to work well

I am going to spray with moss killer after I brush the.....off which should stop them regrowing at least for some time.

Now this looks a safe way to pressure wash a roof

Mind you I bet that guy is also a qualified tree surgeon too the way he is using the rope setup.

He certainly has got some climbing savvy to set up like that

Wish more people would be that safe

I said before I would happily walk about on roofs all day but nowadays I would have my climbing harness on as I don't fancy a wheelchair

id think the harness will be essential. after a short time on a roof like that your shoe soles will be as slippy as on ice once the mossy crud gets on them .

do you think you will have any slack on the rope or will it be a tight line ?,just wondering

Personally I would have it slack so I can move about..would just be short enough that I couldn't reach the edge of the roof.

Too restrictive otherwise

thats interesting, youd know the score ,what with your climbing past/on the roof yrs ago etc . you likely will "clean up" in the field of roofs clean down ,very few folk do that stuff.
