That's true, they might just have to change there mind after few months of dirty windows!!

Ur right how would u be able to store a lot of rain water? Might have to try that river out near you to keep ur eco name!

Regarding licensing....

Unfortunately quite a few rouges give professional window cleaners a bad reputation. More so now because of so many being out of work as is an easy way to earn cash. UK licensing might help as in Scotland but the authorities would still have to catch them first to warn/prosecute them if required.

I for one would be in favour for UK licensing if it helps to improve our image.

I would imagine the local water company would have something to say about nicking water out the river .
It doesn't belong to the water companies mate, they have to pay to take water from rivers.
I think the british public own the rivers and they're managed by British Waterways who changed the name but can't remember what to, canal trust or something similar.

if that happened id quit window cleaning, im a trad cleaner and always will be, as for licensing its a nice idea but would only get used as a revenue generator, plus id be concerned over whatever restrictions they put on the license

what you waffling on about RC im coming up 57 in November & i dont consider myself to old to change as you well know, i like to keep up (when i can afford to) with the latest techniques then i can provide a far better service for my customers. To old indeed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No licensing here in South Ayrshire.

The place is flooded with window cleaners from all over the west of scotland.
Yeah it's completely optional for councils to charge the licence fee, it really just up to them if they want the hassle, but if they decide they do, then its the law that you must comply. Bit of a money making scheme for them if you ask me. 26 council areas in Scotland are licenced, but there are a 6 areas that aren't.

You're not a million miles for me mate, are you rained off there as well?

Yes there is licensing in South Ayrshire, it has one of the best records for licensing with a top class enforcement officer who works with local licensed window cleaners.

Never been notified. I pushed for licensing a couple of years ago and got absolutely nowhere. East and North Ayrshire are both licensed.

South Ayrshire licences and permits:

Not really he did that when he wasn't on the glass according to that.
They could only charge him with the photos where the victims could be traced. He took hundreds while `on the glass`. Was a well documented case locally.
