Why will there be long term damage to mental and physical health?its down to the individual to keep him or herself physically fit and mentally well.....theres loads of help/info out there to help people make better choices in their diet and take up some form of exercise.....I agree some children will be affected but theyll soon get over it when the schools go back...
I take it you don't suffer with mental health issues then by that response?

Some of us do and this whole situation is not helping at all.

There's truth to what you say.

However! You, and the rest of us are living in a rare time, when we are pretty much at peace and safety, in comparison to most of the generations before us. Nearly every generation has had to face conflicts, wars or starvation. We don't. We are not in a stinking trench in Flanders or the Somme. Surrounded by the rotting and desecrated bodies of our best buddies and comrades, with rats crawling over us. Waiting for the order to fix bayonets and go "over the top" into a hail of machine gun fire and a mess of barbed wire. To, if we're lucky enough to survive that, have to look into the eyes of some other mother's son and hope we can rip his innards out before he does it to us.

A grim description but, there is so much self pity these days. Things are far from ideal. They could be much worse.
Dave should know he's lived through 2 world wars and korea??????

And daily infection rate figures saying such as 20,000 cases today mean 20,000 are now immune if they recover and vast majority do recover or do not even know they have had it, so by now the majority must have an immunity or Government figures are lies.
But immunity does not last, and people are being infected for a second time, even here in the Island we have had at least one occurance of this.

Everyone wants to be a victim these days and 'suffer' from something....we all suffer sometimes but invariably a lot of the time we manufacture our own misery...
Nobody "wants" to feel like they do when having a bad time.

I think once you've suffered with depression/anxiety/ptsd and had the dark times you then understand what others are going through.

Exercising and eating well isn't gonna change that for some people.

I take tablets daily to control my brain as otherwise I couldn't function sometimes but unlike some who suffer in silence and you would never know I don't mind talking about it.

Most people bring it on themselves though....rubbish diet,no exercise, too wrapped up in their own thoughts and feelings and spend zero time helping others which ironically enough would help alleviate their mental health problems massively....

I'm not on about PTSD here but the general depression/anxiety that people tend to suffer from these days.....

What a great post!

Totally agree with you. I’ve always made the most of my weekends with going football, horse racing, ska gigs and pubs. But didn’t realise how much I would miss them when they are gone.

Cannot wait until it comes back. Really missing being exited on a Friday at work ready for the weekend to start. Now it just feels like you’re waiting for Monday to come round again.

Roll on the summer. One life, live it. It’s going to be magnificent ?
Absolutely mate, what's the point otherwise.

Of course I agree but I suppose it's all relative to our generation. Whatever this resembles at the moment it certainly isn't life. But it will pass and we'll all roll with the times. The "new normal", "Things will never be the same etc" I hate these sayings, people are creatures of habit and as soon as this passes, people will go back to doing what they always have & I can't wait for it.
