Are window cleaners still allowed to work during Coronavirus (Covid-19)?

A neighbour of someone on a football WhatsApp group I’m in got rushed to hospital yesterday with a high fever & severe shortness of breath. He’s now on a Dyson ventilating machine, and is stable, and awaiting almost certain test results of covid-19

I'm wearing disposable gloves and replacing them for each job - this will help alleviate the chances of spreading the virus.
alleviate

/əˈliːvɪeɪt/

verb

make (suffering, deficiency, or a problem) less severe.

"he couldn't prevent her pain, only alleviate it"

Please tell me that's just a wrong choice of word?

There’s 0 chance throughout a day that you can guarantee you wouldn’t leave the virus on a surface somewhere or transfer it to someone. That’s just my opinion though. Good luck to ya.

I just watched the daily talk there and he was asked who could work and he said about if you cant work from home but can keep the 6 feet rule you can work. It will be on fb probably your local news pages.

Before I get shot down I've already stopped working and wont be going back till after the total lock down whenever that happens.

The reason the death rate has been that high in Italy is due to the age of ones in those areas most are elderly so you would expect a higher death rate it will be exact the same hear most not all I accept will be older ones or ones with underlying health issues usually involving a respiratory illness , like asthma, copd, emphysema, and other such ailments, the death rate from the common cold dies fluctuate quite dramatically from year to year , far more people world wide die from that each year than will die from covid 19 , just take a look at the figures it’s there for  all to see , covid 19 is in most people only very mild symptoms and many don’t  evan know that they have had it , many would continue to work if they had a normal cold many with covid 19 are probably doing exactly the same now without realising they have it and are passing it on to anyone they come into contact with , it will spread rapidly throughout the world as we have no immunity to it as it’s a new bug , given a few years time it will will be just another cold , but at the moment it’s a pandemic
This is why every year they commandeer sports centers to use as morgues and exhibition centers as hospitals ?

Hi Daniel
I don't think it needs publicising any more than it has been already - the Government advice is clear on the http://mymsg.eu/8o3q website as you have already stated.
People can travel to and from work (if they cannot work from home) - Which is what we do every day.

The above is from East Hants Police.

There you have it folks, crack on and get some work done and help prevent the economy from crashing.

Prevent the economy from crashing? Hell that's some round you've got.

Just another thing I missed saying from my earlier longggggg post is I feel any Jo public/tradesman/business going that extra mile and more to follow safe practice is much more helpful/thoughful than my idiot neighbours who have friends round from another house for a gettogether or the builders working 2 doors up from me who keep arriving daily 3 abreast upfront in their van and working close and confined in a family filled home. This is what's totally ignorant and immoral and it's going on all around everywhere I see me no matter what I would hope for folk to do. I didn't expect anything different, course... ?

So 0 chance means you would be confident to go out to work with the virus ? Or would you?
Sorry for any confusion. I’m saying at the moment, in my opinion you cannot guarantee 100% that you won’t leave this virus on a surface or transfer it to someone. Plus I believe in a week or 2 we’ll almost certainly be in a full lockdown so this thread will be moot. I just don’t think it’s worth a couple of weeks wage to potentially kill someone. Yes I know it’s unlikely. But if you read my story a page or so back, maybe it’s not so unlikely to happen.

Yes it was me who worded it wrong. My apologies.

Did you actually see the projections for how many will die if the government doesn’t do anything? We’re talking a million people in the UK. That’s a million people who die without having a proper funeral and without being able to have their families by their sides.

Surely we can all put up with this for a few months so we can keep the death rate down to 20/30,000?

I’m also sick of hearing the comparisons to swine flu. Yes, governments of the world let that run its course. Yes almost a billion people got it. But if they let that happen with this, the death rate would be astronomically higher than swine flu.
Projections by one expert are different to the next expert...

Finished contacting my customers by phone or text today saying that I wouldn't be cleaning for the next couple of weeks. Positive responses from everyone and will be surprised if I lose any business to other WCs. I was really touched by a self employed ironing lady who usually pays by cash. She asked for my bank details as she wants to continue to pay me. I refused. The bad news is we have been cleaning for 11 months, but but up to approx 400 customers with hard graft, so UC for us.

stay safe all.
