That would've been the Pennywell Estate, biggest Council Estate in the UK once upon a time. It's still a hole

I knew a few lads on that estate years ago a bit of an eye-opener even for me going to the pub on the estate, I've got a bad memory but it wasn't Pennywell it was over Witherwack way I think a similar setting as Pennywell small amount of shops and a pub and green out front and houses everywhere

Well if it was Southwick, beside Witherwack, you did well to get out alive in the 70's and 80's

Witherwack just stuck in my head it could have been Southwick,
