Best pole to get for starting off not too expensive .

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Yeah I have that sort of price range and already have a pole that is quite heavy it's just I didn't want to buy another one that's too heavy I wanted something that is lighter . I did look at the video for that pole and it does seem good so might go for that. Second hand poles seem a bit few and far between I have noticed ?

Ok so you think I should just persevere for a bit and then save up for a better pole? Wfp is all new to me so trying to learn as much as I can off people

Go for a clx 18 like I did at first I managed to do all my work with this just until you get the funds then go for a slx 22 that'll do nearly all 3 storey, you don't really want to be removing sections.

They only make them longer by adding sections.

I keep the bottom section of my 35 off till I need it. Just ordered a smaller cap to cover the next pole width down.

If you already have a pole that does the job then stick with it.

It is easy to want all the cool toys but if they are not paying for themselves then you are just throwing away money cause you can.

Hi been doing trad for a while and I am merging over to wfp so was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good pole to start off with as I have been given one but seems rather heavy . Not looking to spend loads , unless someone has a good second hand one for sale ?Also any tips and hints for someone starting out with wfp would be great.

Just tagging onto this thread as I have a simular question. I am about to buy my first pole as new to wfp. I have been asked about guttering on a couple of third storeys (3 storeys Inc ground floor) will a 25 or 27 be enough for that when going over a conservatory? Idealy want 1 pole I can use for all will this be enough or am I going to need a 30 or 35? Any advice appreciated

Cheers for that green just checking I have written it right when I say 3 storeys I'm talking a normal house with a loft extension and a town house etc with a conny... would a 35 be too heavy to use day to day for my regular cleans do you reckon?

Getting to gutters 3 storeys up and over a conny is going to be very hard work. Watch your back!

If you're talking normal house with dormers in the loft then the gutters are still only at 'normal' 1st floor height. However to reach a dormer over a conny I would say at least a 35.

I use an 18 all day. I have 2 days where I do all my residential above that up to 35.

It feels like a brick by comparrison however as I recommended earlier if you dont need 35 every day just take off the bottom tube until you do.

Get the gardener extreme 25 mark 3 it is so light it makes a massive difference I no it is expensive but you work out if you have for 3 4 5 years what is that a week nothing it is a false economy to buy a pole that is heavy I have a friend has to get operation from using a plastic pole with this pole being so light you will do more work probably but you will definitely not fell as sore I used to wake up 3 4 times a night with shoulder problems with old pole took months to go away even gram makes a difference look after it I clean mine every day it will last you buy the best anything less in my opinion is a false economy

I have just bought a Clx 18 and Slx 30 and went from cheap heavy poles to these, I had my first day today and must say money well spent!!!! Slx 30 gets you to 3rd floor with ease, even the Clx is more rigid and light than my old pole and Clx 18 was £100 so for a start up pole nothing for a good quality pole, best of all worlds maybe a Clx or Slx 22 that would be fine as a 1 pole system to get you started and you can add poles as an when you are ready [emoji106]

I don't no what anyone else makes but I think window cleaning is very good money but yet when it comes to spending money a lot of window cleaners don't want to spend would rather save a hundred or two and suffer with a bad shoulder I no window cleaners that have tried to save money and regretted it later I started with slx 27 ended up waking up 3 4 times a night frozen shoulder comming home from work in complete agony I bought the extreme 25 mark 2 after a few months my shoulders got better now to be honest I had a few problems with the metal rings which gardener fixed I now have the extreme 25 mark 3 I don't come home sore any more I think it would be madness not to buy this pole don't get me wrong I don't like spending money but why suffer when you work it out it prob costs a couple of pound a week I can do more work now to as I am not in agony don't penny pinch you will regret it

Spend a little more & try streamline poles.. They are brilliant.. Pure Freedom design them.. Never had to change the clamps the nuts are metal so no problem with them coming loose on the clamp.. Very easy weight.. I use a 28ft & a 40ft & the 40ft I use most of the time it's light & not a huge amount of bend when fully extended.. Definitely recommend if you just went for the 40ft it's good for any job..
