What sort of price does everyone charge for builders cleans before the houses get handed over . There’s a cleaning company doing the insides so the price is just based on the outside , how much for 3 bed semis ? 3 bed detached and 4 bed detached

£100 minimum, they're a nightmare! Cement, brick dust, render, paint, prepare to tackle it all. I tend to avoid them, apartment from a mate who's a builder as he makes sure any cement, render etc is removed from glass and frames and films removed (another nightmare) before I get there. Before I used to charge £5 per window for outside and same again inside.

Get a scratched / damaged glass waiver signed bt customer before starting work & explain any potential problems to them 1st too

Last man on the job will get the blame - windows should have been covered in plastic during construction - if mortar gets on glass you may scratch getting it off!

Anyone use any chemicals on the glass after taking off the plastics protective covering ?? Was thinking it would be much easier as some take a lot of scrapping ??

Is it ok on the glass ? Do you mix it with water mate ? And how long would you leave it on for ?

Spray on a clean cloth then wipe the area, should come straight off. I use it on glass and have had no problems with it

It still surprises me that any established windie still does these.

Did one 20 odd years back and vowed two words when next approached.

I wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole these days. I remember doing a shop on a Sunday years back. I took hours, parking was a problem, public getting in the way etc. Total mare!

Like the others said I dont bother with builders cleans. Did it once many years ago and it took me all morning to clean it. Never again.

Pvc solvent on the frames and glass will remove any sticky residue
