Cheap window cleaning liquid

I'm using GG4 at the moment and like others have said I make it much stronger than recommended. I've tried a couple of other window cleaning solutions but I think once I've finished the GG4 I'll be going back to Fairy.

aldi magnum for me . the small bottles it comes in now are very easy to pickup . its very kind on the skin too. if you look online you will find magnum has great reviews too . i only buy the yellow or the green as these are just the right thickness tho they also sell the blue which is thicker and the red which is thinner and then theres the premium which iv not ever used . a helluva range

If we are talking dish soaps, then aldi magnum premium is the best I have used. So many soaps and so little time though.

ive tryed the unger and did not like it at all also gg4/gg3 not my cuppa t, for me its hg or ettore squeegee off u just cant beat them

I think Hg and Squeegee off are made by the same people

I had to stop using HG, because you can't get it round here anymore. While I was looking round, I noticed that Squeegee off had the same packaging and same colour. when I got some (squeegee off) even the instructions were the same. So I carried on using it exactly the same as the HG and there was no difference.

I use the cheapest shower gel possible , great glide and degreaser effect too .

It is interesting, most people using washing-up liquid. I've have also used it, but about 10 years ago one of my custies gave me two bottles of HG that they had bought off a door-to-door salesman and couldn't get on with it. Well, I started by putting a bit in my bucket as well as the washing-up liquid, and after a while I noticed that the bird muck and other spots from insects were coming off easier. Now, years later, I have progressed, putting in Hg (or now Squeegee Off) to the upper limit as advised, which is 15ml in 5 litres of water, and only then add enough washing-up liquid to give slip for the squeegee. This, I have found the best way. I don't use an applicator because I have a 'Wagulator' with its' own wash-pad and spray directly onto the glass, so I don't want a lot of suds, just enough to get the slip.

I used to use unger, but because of the lack of suds I would add some dish soap to it to give it a bit more slip. It works really well but the consistency of the water is syrup like. Which is great for first cleans and dirty Windows, but a bit overkill on regular cleans.

Tried using gg4, just can't get on with it. Not enough slip. Rubbers seems to drag a lot.

Recently tried squeegee off. I do like it but if it's slightly damp then the water tends to bleed back onto the window from the edges.

I've also noticed it likes to leave lines (a rainbow type effect which disappear) when blading.

Today I tried putting a tiny bit of fairy into my bucket (which had squeegee off mixed in) and it seem to work well.

I only use ettorre blades. And the extra suds from the fairy helped it to glide better and not leave any lines at all.

Unger is good but only when mixed with something else. But at the moment I'm going to experiment with squeegee off to get the perfect results.

Can someone tell me how much squeegee off you put in the bucket. I have been using the cap on the bottle. I usually put in three.

Fairy Liquid. Been using it for 12 years and it's never let me down. Few good squirts and add 4 or 5L of water. As long as it's soapy and not separating you should be fine. I've never ever used a purpose made window cleaning solution. Rip off.

I use glass gleam 4, all natural, no petroleum. Common household cleaners have petroleum in which is no good for the glass. And the windows stay wet for longer to a lot longer, depending on the weather etc.

Double the recommended dose but that's how I like it. /emoticons/smile.png

I do 15 in the bucket, 5 ml on the dolly(applicator) then dip and mix 5L, I find it takes better to the dolly that way.

If you imagine that a bucket will hold 10 litres, then 30mls, but you'll have to add washing up liquid to get slip. I used fairy for years, but it always went 'gloppy' in the cold, changed to Persil, then to Bio-D, but have just returned to Persil!

Does the magnum have similar ingredients as fairy. I swapped from fairy cause my hands suffered. I tried just about everything and finally settled on ecover 18 months ago with a tad of vinegar and It's good to use and gets great results but I'm looking for more slippage. Do I just add more ecover to the mix or is the magnum worth trying
