While we are on the topic of these vans @Pjj, please can you tell me how you know when the dpf filter is going through a regen process?

I met up with a customer's son who drives the same model as mine albeit 2 years younger. he didn't even know his van had a DPF filter. I looked under the van and confirmed it did. He is a heating engineer and most the the customers they service are local so his van doesn't get to do many long runs. He's had his van for 5 years and never seen a flashing dfp filter regen warning light.
Not sure how you tell as most do different things , a guy who works for me has a fiat doblo when that does a regen loads of black smoke comes out the exhaust , my renault I haven’t got a clue when it does one , but my audi car when it does  a regen if you stop whilst it’s doing it the heat coming from underneath the car will nearly burn your legs ,and the engine fans run flat out , time scale wise on doing regen depends how it’s been driven , generally on a decent run it should do it but Ime guessing most would be unaware that it’s doing it , again my audi smells hot when it does  it going up the motorway but there is no visible indication on any dash lights on any of my vehicles to indicate that it’s on a regen cycle ,sorry to not be more helpful @spruce

@Part Timer just wanting an update please as to how you are getting on with the PF reels on a daily basis, any niggles, how are the rollers holding up? also how are they wired to the battery are they spade connectors and is the cable within a conduit, have they put bolts through the floor or are self tapping screws/bolts used. Thanks I.G

If you can ask this in English I might be able to answer. Spade connectors, conduit and self tapping is a different language to what I understand ? Everything is run off the 2 batteries and haven't had any problems with power. Rollers appear to be fine, until you jinxed them. The 2 problems I've had is running opposite directions from the same site and, I know this sounds very strange, the hose seems to have shrunk after using hot water.

Might be easier to pop over and show you, but next week is predicted to be very damp. @THL4KELis busy pressure washing and you'll probably be behind on your work but if not I can pop over for the free early tea you want to pay for next Friday afternoon.

That’s gonna confuse him even more!!!!

They are ring terminals

these are spade terminals, a lot of pre made wiring looms use these or bullet terminals (similar to spade but cylinder/hollow instead)

Fitted the reel yesterday. I’m pleased with it. Took ages to fit. A few fiddly bits had a mate help. But solid as a rock!

Had to take a few metres off my hose though as it was rubbing. So got about 93 metres of micro on there now. We managed to just squeeze on the micro bore onto the barb in the middle, why do the put a 8mm barb on? Surely there should be a choice
Found that out myself this week, thankfully a good neighbour of mine is a fitter by trade and sorted it out, it had to be mounted on a board aka a 500mm kitchen cabinet door which worked perfectly due to the raised areas on my van floor it was the only way to get a good solid level surface.

Also my good neighbour, fabricated some plastic feet, which bolted to the reel then we screwed the feet to the board, so totally rock solid, I am going to paint the board the with Protectakote ready for next week, but we just wanted to get it all fitted to see that it all worked as it should.

Edit. As to why Waterworks haven't thought about even supplying some plastic feet bolted to the bottom of reel frame or a long strip of thick plastic at the front and back, is a bit bewildering, this would sort fitting issues for every type of van floor, I would have thought ?

I am also thinking that this is possibly a common issue with other electric reels as well, dependant on the size of the reel and the various ridges on different van floors, even the swivel bases etc aren't going able to be fitted to sit level on every van floor surely, as they don't make the variations for different van's

Does anybody know where you buy that hose connector in the above picture the one on the side of the reel with the green hose. I need to change my plastic hose lock one @spruce @Iron Giant
If you have a petal hose reel this is the one https://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/pump-hose/hose-reels/hose-reel-accessories/hozelock-type-brass-hose-reel-fitting-swivel-elbow.html if you have an electric reel like the PowerUP then it has been covered earlier in this post. ?

Mine is an home made power up. I had the above type on, didn’t buy from Gardiners, but it leaked badly.

Not noticed post on waterworks one. Will take a look through.

If it's leaking then if you look inside the elbow there is a square like a hex/allen key fitting this may need tightening, but it's a big size hex key, might be cheaper to buy a new fitting not sure.

Used my PowerUp reel yesterday and it was like going from A to B to ecstasy, I was like wa wa woo wa I'm king of the castle, reeled in 70m of hose in about 20 seconds, I have fitted on my reel 6mm microbore from Circuit Hydraulics and it's the thinnest O. D of hose I've ever used nice and lightweight and 100m easily goes on to the reel.

H D reels have Eliminated my shoulder problem ? just gotta get rid of my tennis elbow now ?

I have 100m 6mm also approx 20m of 5mm and still plenty of room, being tubless is the best thing in my opinion.

@Denthe hose I have on mine isn't a great deal bigger O. D than pole hose, I have used 6mm hose for years now and this is the thinnest I have ever had.

In terms of usability and durability only time will tell, but I am hoping that it lasts well,
