Gardner doport brush

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I need a new brush. I’ve had the DuPont ultimate for the last few months. It’s ok.

Ive already got the extreme natural, and a couple of other brushes for other things.

But want to try another new brush.

Is there anything good/special about the orange & white bristles ultimate brush??

Dont bother with the orange one mate it’s **** . It barely spreads when doing upstairs windows

Not really! I've got em all, the orange is ok at best. I would really miss the natural bristles now if I didn't have them anymore.

I've been using the Dupont ultimate for first cleans this weekend, its a very aggressive little brush. I stopped using it not long after I bought because I got the extreme and liked that.

One brush I bought lately and I really like is the new xline dupont, very good for getting frames cleaned. It gets all the algae out from the edges of the frames, none of my gardiner brushes can compete. But its bristles splay a lot so it's not very good for accuracy work.

I get bored easy so I'm always having brush "phases" The extreme is the one i always go back to. 10" with pencils and 14" with 4x red fans, love them both.

I have just fitted 6x 1.4mm pencil jets to the 10", its like a rinse bar on the glass. Normal rinse bars don't have the power to flush stuff down but this does, I drilled through the quick loq connector so I could have 2 pencils close together when the jets hit the glass they form a complete rinse bar. Its pretty cool, just something to keep me content, till I think of something else.

Nothing is better than a new brush or water delivery arrangement, makes my day so much more interesting.

Any videos of it in action ??

The Ultimate Medium (with Orange Bristles) is a slightly firmer version of the Ultimate Medium Soft.

Some clients prefer a slightly more robust feel on the glass and for them this version is ideal. However more clients still prefer the Ultimate Medium Soft as it splays easily on the glass. If you like the feel of the Ultimate DuPont then the Ultimate Medium Soft is very similar.

Ok thanks. Yeh I generally prefer the feel of a softer rather than firmer brushe.

Looks like your extreme sill brushes are going to be very popular Alex

Thats good to hear about the xline brush, as i do feel the gardiners dont really get into corners that well.

Hi Steve

I already have you listed as a potential Xtreme Sill Tester - we have just not reached that stage yet as we have been working on technical details of stock design etc.
What are the reasons for not using a sill brush? I used to love mine and also the universal brush you do. My only gripe with the universal is the way the edges are tilted meaning I have to hold it at odd angles to get the bristles where I want them so I've gone back to basics with the Ultimate Brush, Medium soft bristles. I really like how it feels on the glass. Do you do this brush but the sill version?

Thanks Sam ?

I think that weight saving and having all bristles focused on the glass are the main reasons why non-sill brushes remain so popular.

The Xtreme Sill is not based on the Ultimate that you enjoy using, but on the Xtreme lightweight brush. The reason for this was to be able to provide a Sill brush without the weight penalty. This brush will be our most technically advanced brush we have made and will come with several new features not seen before on our brushes.

We think that it will be very popular and even I have enjoyed working with it in testing - previously I have not been a fan of working with Sill brushes due to the weight and lack of focus.

We do not currently do an Ultimate Sill version - we would direct users to the Universal Sill Medium-Soft if they wanted an equivalent Sill brush currently.

Yeh I can’t wait for this extreme sill brush.

But blimey Alex, you better barricade the warehouse doors on the day of release. There’s going to be a large army of over enthusiastic cleaners coming to Cornwall haha

I use extreme brushes and am currently trialling the Dupont version.  Personally I love it.  I find it scrubs a little better than the regular version. I'm hoping you put this into production Alex, also as a 35cm version as I like the wider brush for a lot of my work

What are the bristles in comparison to the regular? Are they softer? whats the splay like?

They are softish and splay a little easier than the natural hybrid which is my other favourite version of this brush.

In use, it feels to me like there is slightly more friction between the bristles and the glass than the natural hybrid brush.

Thebristles feels silk across the glass in my opinion you only need to apply a little pressure on the likes of snail trails etc

My son and myself have been giving the extreme DuPont a thorough trailing the last couple of months and the brush is still in great condition both of us really love this brush for maintenance cleans, it's good on first cleans too as long as the frames aren't to deep as a matter of fact apart from square leaded I prefer flocked brush for them, I now use this brush on just about every clean.

I am now into my second week of using a Supreme with Dupont bristles nice long bristles for wider plastic sills and soft so really good on square and diamond lead just glides over the lead easily without any juddering at all even cleaning over an extension at an extreme angle  weighs in at 185g just 10g heavier than an Ultimate, it's my brush of choice for now at least ?

I've just seen someone post a picture of their new gardiners brush and in the box is what appears to be a coffee cup...?! I need one in my life, what's the prerequisites to getting one? ? ?

Sounds a good brush wonder what it would be like on facias and gutters etc.

@Iron Giant

Shall I get one as my next brush then?

or just the ultimate DuPont?
All depends on your jobs, I have quite a few with deep sills and bay windows and the Supreme definitely is better at getting the crud from between the lower part of the frame and the sill for me it won't be a brush I use every day as it feels heavier than the ultimate as the bristles hold more water and I have issues with shoulders etc, But I would say its a better and lighter option than a sill brush for example.

I have a brand new mono Supreme with black and white bristles sat in my garage, but the DuPont bristles are far better, more durable and just deal with dirt better.

Hmm ok. I liked the DuPont ultimate when I first got it, but the inner bristles very quickly get crushed & twisted up. And it’s very lightweight/not good enough, on any frames & sills that are quite dirty in my opinion. I find the extreme natural the same, good on already fairly clean glass, but I don’t use it on anything pretty dirty.

But seeing 75/80% of my work is just regular window cleans, I might as well either use the extreme naturals I’ve got or get another couple DuPont ultimates..
