Insulating van. Anyone have any recommendations?

As it’s that bloody time of year again.. I’m thinking about insulating the inside of the back of the van before winter fully sets in in the vague hope things won’t freeze *quite* as easily as they normally do.

Has anyone done this and have anything to recommend?

I’ve been looking at:

But all of these look much of a muchness to me. Trying to time all this work to get done at the same time as upgrading the ply lining (and fitting the dining room table sized solar panel that’s currently clogging up my spare room).

Yes those type of insulation products do work . Look at camper van products as well

Theses products are more for sound deadening rather than insulation ,

I did mine in dec 2022 with the foil bubble wrap stuff and it's been fine. Oil rad in back over frosty days (tonight!) and still frost on roof in morning, so at least some heat is being retained within the van.
I use double sided tape (44920 £4.49) and ali tape (97723 £4.49) from toolstation and 10m x 1.05m YBS thermowrap insulation from Screwfix (9691P £36). Took a few hrs to stick double sided tape to surfaces then cut and stick insulation to that, it's held up fine. I then used the ali tape to seal joints and edges. I did roof and behind all the plywood/plastic side panels.

I use an oil filled radiator overnight if forecast below zero and take a broom and ice melt grit with me to work for the paths and driveways(if the customer consents of course)

That's all you need really unless you use a cold water system then I'd advise also to take a flask of hot water with you in case your jets freeze up on the really cold days.
