Hi guys,

Getting a courtesy Van tomorrow, Ford Custom with a Ionics 600 or 650 system inside. The lad from U-Drive said, are you familiar with the system as it’s quite complicated??..... Great! I said surely I can take the lid off and just pump in my pure water from my storage tank..? He said he’s not sure. He said it has the built in R.O & D.I.

Is anybody familiar with these systems? Will I be able to fill up from for storage tank like normal? As my tap pressure is awful here so self filling r.o won’t be satisfactory.

 Thanks.

Ok, my tap water psi is about 20. I know self filling will be awful. Do the systems have their own booster pump ?

We have two ionics systems I doubt that it will have a booster pump , usualy they are an option , again the lids are an option what system is it ? Pro5 ? Or the v series or zero as they are all different , if this is a courtesy vehicle when it’s deliverd they should go through with you how it all works , they arnt complicated just probebly different to what you are used to

Ok thanks. I’m not sure which system it is. I just have a very poor tap pressure, and can see me going to work next week with like 300Ls after it’s been filling all night lol. I sure hope I can just fill it from my storage tank.

Worst case senatio if there is no lid in the tank if it had a tank level gauge on top of the tank unscrew it and pump the water in through that or pump it through the filtration on the system and it will fill the tank

Ok I see. I use a 1 inch transfer hose, will that be a problem?

Are the DI connections hozlelock? If they are then just disconnect the one after DI and pump through that?

Yes thats what I would have suggested but he has inch transfer hose , it could be done but he would have to change over to half inch garden hose if the transfer pump will take that or not I don’t know

I had the same problem , I used amalgamating tape to build up the diameter of one end of some garden hose , pushed it in the one inch transfer hose , duct tape around the joint then hose lock on the other end to connect to inlet where filters discharge into the tank .

Takes longer to fill of course but still only 15 mins or so .

Good suggestions. Cheers guys van coming tomorrow lunch time.

its the second wfp courtesy van. Currently got a VW transporter with 2x 350 face lift delivery systems. I love them & the van but one of the tanks has come lose ( as they were only strapped in) and it’s disconnected all the wires etc, so there’s a full 350L tank not held down at all in the back of there. They said it’s easier just to swap vans round then send guys to fix.

I get my van back next Wednesday or Thursday. Will be 2 & half weeks with my normal van by then. Like what you say about your own bed, there’s nothing like your own van.

Ok I’ve taken photo of the ionic system, but this forum still isn’t letting me upload photos. There’s a small sort of lid thing on the corner. But not sure if it’s actually a lid as there’s another surface just a few inches underneath

Anyone with familiar with a ionic system like you call me (off you have a bit of spare time) 07880 255426

thanks. Ryan

All sorted. What an incredible bit of kit. Got the thermo hot box as well. I tell you what, when insurances are on your side, they’re not bad allies

Ok thanks. The only switch on the top says ‘summer OR winter’ I had it on summer. It was warm. Like when you leave your pump on, and your hose out, but the pole valve closed for 10/15 minutes on a really hot day, it comes out pretty warm.

I would like a hot water system, but I would only ever get a professional diesel system. And I don’t ever have a spare 3&half grand. Also 75% of my work is 6/8 weekly regular window cleans. So it’ll take so long to get that money back on dirty/green stuff to clean.
