Liquidator+Facelift Red Rubber

Hey guys!

New on this forum.

Me and my colleagues have problems with the Liquidator + Facelifts Red Rubber.

We get fine drag lines after the squeegee. Especially in the middle of the squeegee and 2 cm from the edges.

We have tried different ways of cutting but nothing helps.

But I've noticed so many talk about that the Red Rubber is the best for the liquidator. So something we do must be wrong.

Now Moermans own rubber is working best, but it wears out so quickly.

Any advice or suggestions? Would really appreciate it!

Love Razer Red in Liquidator but have discovered a few anomalies over the last year. In colder weather on tinted glass or hard water areas they can be less than optimum with water removal. My 36" lengths are excellent and I've never had issues but my 14" pack was suspect, hard to get the rubber in the channel and because of that results were erratic. I put it down to uneven pressure on the rubber along the length of the channel. You need to be pedantic with the cutting and have it sitting flush with the end tips. Lots of slip, dial in the angle to glass and yes it takes 3 or 4 Windows to wear it in. When fanning keep the overlap to dry glass as minimal as you can.

I found this too with razr red, I found some were good and others left horrendous drag marks at the ends. I use Black diamond, pulex and Moerman now. I've just sorted out free delivery for black diamond with a company here in oz so once all my others are gone this is all I'll be using.

Think I mind @daveyboy saying some rubbers need a bit of use as too sharp a line when new?

Eric, i noticed some of the razr reds i had that some are thicker than others. I think the 36"strips were narrower than the individual 14" strips. I chucked the few thicker ones i had left as couldn't be bothered to try and squeeze them in anymore......even with using soapy water. I've just ordered quite a few BD hard from squeegee rubber [emoji3]

Yep ditto with the 14". Really irritating and Black Diamond hard is my current favourite. Really consistent. I felt Moerman hard was as good but haven't found a supplier yet. Still have quite a bit of red and BD left so no panic.

ended up binning 3 strips of it because of lines on brand new rubber.:thumbsdown: the 1 bit i have left has been in my blade for 2 months ish & still working fine.

so 1 out of 4 worked. not good:thumbsdown: but i must say it does last a lot longer than any other rubber ive tried. but not worth the hassle.:turd:

I found the same thing looks like doogy cutting fro them if u look closely at the rubber the bit that goes on the glass it looks frayed don't no how they cut it but it's terd I've given up on the stuff

I agree. Even though it's called hard I'd class it as medium.

Can I ask you Eric - How do you cut your rubber? With razor? Scissor?

Rest razor on rubber on flat surface and tap with a hammer. Perfectly straight cut.

Interesting. I bought yesterday a kind of tougher scissor who can cut in plastic. I thought that could help when you cut "Liquidatorrubber".

But the way you describe is good. I have always used a razorblade... but not a hammer.

Scraper blade or very sharp scissors works for me
