I don't see how it's any better than having a tap on a belt. With the tap, when you shut it, it immediately stops water flow so saves more water than this one shot thingy, and it always works even on the other side of the house /emoticons/tongue.pngI guess the only pro is that there is no pressure build up so no leaky connectors ever, but the amount it would leak will come out of your brush after you pressed the button on the remote

Yeah but you start to learn when to press the button, and whilst rinsing you press it and the remaining water is used to carry on rinsing...

The main advantage is no back pressure = longer battery life and longer pump life, plus it looks cool!

Fingers crossed I'll get the one-shot in the post tomorrow /emoticons/biggrin.png I won't get a chance to fit it until wednesday though as I am braving a broken arm and going back to work on a full interior and exterior window and fsg job, followed by helping to fit a kitchen in the afternoon. Think I may need to buy a bunch of painkillers for tomorrow evening

You'll love it mate, if you have any issues then ring the makers 'spring' they are very helpful!

Given myself 4 hours to do it all so I can take my time. And fsg are barely dirty, a quick wipe down with wfp will clean them easily. Franks already given me one hand, l'll have to make extra use my non-frank hand /emoticons/wink.png All I can say is I won't be going up any ladders tomorrow that's for certain! /emoticons/biggrin.png
That x-line gizmo sounds great.. At first, but then it would extend the brush head from the pole and no doubt with a solenoid and battery add a fair bit of weight up there.

Not only that, but it's still a tap... So seems silly to me, if your gonna have a tap, have one at your fingers, less to go wrong

I think I linked this before, but this is what I use:

15 quid on cleaning spot, add the holster for another 9.40.

I know it's not as fancy as having a remote around your neck, but with this I can shut the doors on van, +flow immediately stops.

I use the same tap that I bought 1.5 years ago. It leaked once, I changed the ptfe tape and jubilee clip on it and it's good as new.

If you don't like rectus fittings, just change the end bit to this:

As for the pump, I've been using the same shurflo pump for the last 4 years. Battery is 1.5 years old.

Cleaning spot says this:

Yeah you get some water that's still at pressure in the hose, but I just click the button and use that little bit of water to continue rinsing...

The x line one looks like the better option I can use that with backpacks, my only concern is having to remove your hand from the pole and locate the switch, could be fiddly, often thought that one day someone might bring an electronic one out that has a switch on the pole.

Problem is you'll still have the pump pressure switch cutting in, and you've also got more battery drain because of that as well,

I wouldn't want an electronic switch in the pole as it will get bashed about and add weight right where you don't want weight...

But I'm sure it will be good for some, i just think if your gonna click a button, it may as well turn the pump off as well...

Poles apart, just gaffa the button on to the pole /emoticons/wink.png Got my one-shot through today, woo. It looks the same, but different. Gardiners own version I guess, all the same just with a slightly different logo. Gutted though because the wires are tiny so I am going to have to get some longer wires for it tomorrow.

However it came with 2 brown wires, one with a male end and one female, but I cut all my wires down on my pump etc so I hope I don't blow it all up when I guess which one goes where...

I was using my tap today to change the water power though, with only 150-200ltrs I need all the water saving I can get, so I doubt it will be too long before I upgrade it all to the 3 button version!

Gardiners own version I guess, all the same just with a slightly different logo. Gutted though because the wires are tiny so I am going to have to get some longer wires for it tomorrow.

Edit, just watched vid and yes it's just a remote tap, pointless if you ask me... Why not just use the normal tap at your finger tips and save the weight!

Top Tuffers tip: buy PU pole hose and fit a tap with EZ-Snap or Rectus 21 fittings. Female on the pole hose with the male fitted into the tap. Do the Tuffers pinch to stop the flow and when you need to, switch the tap off. Simples!

That's what I used to do tuffers,

But this one shot has been a god send, it's way better, battery lasts so much longer and pump will last forever (within reason)

It never fails, it only a battery that will ever need replacing, and mine has been going for over a year with no battery change yet...

Oh that's just my bucket on a belt, it fits neatly over the hose connection so I leave it there rather than in my trad bucket so it's kept dry /emoticons/wink.png
