I don't claim to wipe the frames though. If people are happy doing extra work for free then so be it. Maybe you wouldn't get away with it and end up with cancellations. I however don't get that problem. No one cares about sills getting wiped and by doing it doesn't impress anyone. I bet not one person is at school the now with the careers advisor saying I want to go clean window sills.
 
I must admit I avoid the vents and wipe the sills with a towel like Chris but like Ched says theres no right or wrong way, Its what works for the op as there are many variables. I will however clean and flush vent`s if they look too minging.

I don't think someone with 10 20 or 30 years experience then automatically knows more than someone with 2 aswell btw, it's not as if it's some high specialist job where your going to encounter hundreds of different scenarios through the job. We are scrubbing some dirt on a window with a brush and rinsing it off with water, animals used to do harder things in the circus ffs. It's pretty simple stuff,
