I'm not missing it as got enough drink at home and a son who drinks like a fish just like his dad lol.

Got a gin on the go at the mo.. 2xdouble sloe gin and 2xdouble tanqueray gin and only enough room for an inch of tonic in my glass?

Plus stocked up the beer fridge for a few days.

If I started to enjoy drinking in the house I'd probably become alcoholic. Your weeks supply is roughly what I'd drink, units wise, on a "usual" weekend.

It’s the social side of the pub though isn’t it?

I’d rather have 6 pints in my local than 13 pints at home ??

I think this argument is a double edged sword. I have always been an outside, prefer to work physical type of guy. I would hate to work 6 hours behind a computer and would find it harder than 6 hours physical work.  

Can and am happy doing both...but know if I was a youngster now and say a brickie or Windie and my mate had a office job...know he would cope better when they stretch out the Pension age further as they will. My body would be kna*****d by the daily physical demands on it...wear and tear...over the years .But Governments do not care about this.
