I would've thought that supply of goods not fit for purpose would be covered in the purchase contract Grippa got the supplier to sign and a mechanism to resolve said disputes. If they didn't have that covered then that would worry me even more.Part TImer - Grippa are providing context for the initial malevolent insinuation - they say they are working through the legal issues - you can't really prevent someone from taking legal action against you (if they are determined) - it's the nature of a dispute - often both sides believe they are in the right and so the courts adjudicate.
Ignoring that even though they knew there was an issue they continued to sell goods that they couldn't get. They have therefore let a lot of their customers down.
If I'd done anything of what you have said I would've informed the customer so I wouldn't put myself in the position of customers complaining. Life's a lot easier if you put your hands up when you make mistakes because as you said we're all human and our customers know this. You don't lose customers for being upfront and honest.
