I use a coke bottle with a sponge. Tds is approx 35 I then pump it thru a sediment filter and di vessel.

thanks for the reply's ill give the coke bottle a go as im only filling a 16L back pack,for the windows i cant get with ladders,

Here ya go mate, only problem is it's slow as it's gravity fed. I had a gallon container upside down over it with bottom cut out and a small hole in lid, filled it and let it drain into another container or the backpack.
