Still waiting for an answer about the Narec course....

You obviously have a reason for not wanting to say why you posted it. I'm curious, that's all.

What's your email address @Andy and I will send you the course agenda.

Hears a question for you steve do your solar farm customers that you have listed no that they are getting there pannels cleaned by a bunch of subbies while you make your 20% if they find that out the penny might drop and they relise that they dont realy need you

So Narec accredited is worth more than my course?

I can't discuss details to the last question you asked on a open forum. I have signed confidentiality clauses on contracts.

What I can say in response to your question is that subcontracting happens in many, many industries. It is an accepted form of business. You could use the same line of reasoning for any subcontracting.

Many window cleaners on this forum are subcontracted by large cleaning companies. Should their clients not go direct to the window cleaner? Some do. Others are content to pay the money, realising that due to the scale of the contract, it is impossible for a single company to cover every job and they know that some will be subcontracted out.

It happens all of the time and is not a problem.

yes it is worth more you get to keep it. and whats so secret squirel about cleaning solar panels convenient that. you dont need to discus it if i get curious il drop em an email and ask em myself

Interesting that I've spoken to Narec extensively about their course. It is self-accredited and has the same value as mine. They spend less than an hour talking about cleaning. We spend a whole day. They are likely to attend our next training day.

Pretentious springs to mind /emoticons/biggrin.png

adjective attempting to impress by affecting greater importance or merit than is actually possessed.

But you still have to hand back the cert if you no longer want to work as a sub for solar steve.

How sad is that...

Who else on this plant does such a thing if you pay good money to go on a proper training course @Solar Steve please tell me that?

iv spoken with Ed at Narec today you phoned them a month ago for them to endorse your course and they said NO then you arsked them how you could get your course credited. And he was rather surprised to here his guys were going on your course, i can tell you now that aint happening. and i think they are looking in to it further, so more bull crap from you.

This is 'popcorn stuff'.

Although..........

I see it as

'A' has a big project he can't do on his own. Also the project is a bit unusual and has value.

'A' needs need 'B' X many.

Bloke A wants bloke B to at least have a vague understanding of the project, as it will cost A dearly if it's not correctly undertaken. 'Correct' is an ongoing variable.

There is a cost to B.

An amount to speculate (£240?) on the potential of receiving more work at a price that may or may not be attractive.

There's T shirts involved.

Either 'B' goes 'oh I'll give it a shot' or ' nah not for me'.

No dramas.

As a candidate for B, everything I say is biased.

I'm right though.

Not bothered about spelling.

There will always be B's (suckers) for A's to take advantage of methinks....No dramas./emoticons/biggrin.png

This is how I see it. @Solar Steve wants to corner a market, he has delved deeply into solar panel cleaning. How many of us have pushed solar panel cleaning as much as him, not many I presume as we are all busy cleaning windows. Steve sees a way of becoming rich, his way is to tie cleaners into his company for a fee and training course and in return he will give you work. If you want more work then great, everyone's a winner. You make money and Steve makes money. If Steve offers you work that you think isn't enough, don't do it. Also, his course is to teach people the rights and wrongs in cleaning panels. What would happen if you were to clean a solar farm for him and you fooked up? Who would be to blame, Steve?

All in all I see it as franchising cleaning of panels. If people make money out of it then all is good.

You can't knock a trier

im looking to book the Narec course myself from the conversastion iv had with them today it is explained mostly in laymans terms so i will gain a reasonable knowledge of the product im lookin to clean ie isolating the array ect ect

There'll be a cost to man 'C'.

I've still not confirmed my place. Got ALOT of stuff going on.

Mrs SPC had the fire service cut the roof off her car on Friday. She's 'okay'.

Wading through paperwork at the moment. Peppered with Stella.

I told her not to go to Widnes.

I was thinking of doing a renewables course. Nearly all the firms that have installed solar, bio mass etc, no longer exist.

Who will service these systems?

Half of them have been sold ***** they don't need with a promise to bring in twice what they'll get. Hey ho, that's capitalism.

I'm waiting for all the inverters to 'pop'. They'll be the first thing to go.

Sorry to hear about your missus and glad she is ok.
