I’m looking the best delivery hose available for ibc to van.

has to Be easy to work with, preferably not kink easy, and not be so thin that a hole goes into it !

Had mine from eBay (****) got some from machine mart 100% great strong and easy to put away.
the stuff from eBay was ok for 3-4 months then started to split.
had the one from machine mart for 14 months and it’s never split or cracked and it’s not that expensive when u think what we can earn in a day.

I've used that argument before. I would also say if you're gonna save £10 but it will take you an hour of searching to do so then just pay the original price and go and enjoy yourself. The logic there being our hourly rates are more than what we're saving, ergo we are losing money.

There needs to be a limit though. Just looked back at my order and Gardiners were charging £1.95 a meter. To be exact mine is 30mm OD 25mm ID.... That is not 2 inches (No one say thats what she said) it's actually only one inch. Found this stuff for the same sort of price;

I do agree with John though, be careful who you buy from on eBay. I bought my original system hose from these guys, it worked well. I moved on to JG hose and fittings throughout in the end.

This is the best stuff Flexible Pond Hose  I have had mine for almost 3 years and it doesn't split or develop holes I have crushed it driven over it and it bounces back into shape, I have a total of 30 meters in use and it gets crammed into my shed every day

I went through the exact same thing and this is by far the cheapest by a long way, I use 38mm inner diameter with my pump and it can transfer 600 ltrs in around 3-4 min

What do you have on the end? I've got a dispensing nozzle like at the petrol pumps. I imagine that would restrict the flow and make the bigger hose no faster?

Don't know why I'm asking actually, there is no chance in hell I'm cutting the pump out of the tank!

I have not got anything on end I use a plug with a remote to shut off when tanks full on van

@P4dstar I have a 1.5 foot section of white pvc 38mm pipe for household sink waste etc, pick a length up from screwfix for around a fiver and fits like a glove. When I put the sump pump in I made sure it had an inch and a half outlet (38mm) and removed the screw nozzle, placed the pipe directly over the plastic thread with some ptfe tape on and used 3 heavy duty tie wraps (don't use jubilee clip as will rust and contaminate your water)

My pump is brand new for around £40 off amazon and has a 9000ltr an hour rating but that will decrease if you use a hose pipe etc.

My tank is 600ltr and it takes around 3-5 maximum to fill from empty... Its brilliantly fast ?

Thats a smart set up mate, I like it. Had I the time or the space I would copy you. I'll chase you up on that pump if mine ever goes, I see you didn't have to cut your IBC to get it in?

Best form of flattery someone thinking your ideas that good they'd copy you, thanks

TACKLIFE Submersible Anti-Freeze Water Pump, 400W 9000 L/h Clean Dirty Water, 8-Blade impellers, Max Granule 25 mm, Height 5 m, Maximum Depth 6 m, Cable 10 m, Heavy Duty Float Switch GSUP2B https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B079PS8775/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FjOUDbZ2PWAMF

Pump if you ever need it... I'd rather patch up a lid than the IBC itself ?

So does it just drop inside? Looks similar size to mine from Screwfix. Perhaps a little thinner.

Yeah just sits next to the outflow valve and when the vans full I use the blue pvc pipe you can see on the IBC to raise it up and allow air in to stop any syphon effect, the one I bought came with 10m of cable to so reached all the way to the other side of the workshop to the external switch which is the grey switch on the outside photo to run the motor from near the van

I had something like that before and it managed a hole in it. I’m not sure if it was cheaper grade or what, scares me to buy it again ?

I like the looks of that myself. I think I’ll pipe mine to the end of the garage and I will get away with a few metres hose !

First4Spares is the seller and whom I bought mine off and it has been top notch, but of course as with a lot of things over the years they can become inferior as things are made more cheaply to reduce costs and increase profits and you don't know until you buy something

Im really struggling to get my static tank up and running.

My pump doesn't fit in the hole where the lid is, do i need to cut a hole in my tank or better to buy a smaller pump that will fit.

You can cut a hole in the top of the tank, I think the lads who have done this did so with a stanley knife in an X @P4dstar is your man I think he did the neatest job

Funny enough my delivery hose got a big split last week. I use the common black ribbed stuff. I have 20 metres of it. I went to order some more but the guy on the phone said try a splitter/adapter instead. It was only £6, so thought yeh why not. As a new hose is £45Ish

Anyway just fitted and filled up ?? Na can’t get it water tight. Was spraying everywhere. The ribbed lining inside stops you getting the adapter on far enough. So gonna order some new hose tomorrow.

But that black hose has lasted since December 16. I’ve trod on it dozens of times. And I drag it on the ground, it’s also frozen loads of times over the years etc etc. so £45 well spent. It has had several small leaks over the years, but I find a few laps of PTFE tape and then a few laps sellotape over that works fine.

My old boss had the thicker tougher Green hose, but in the winter I think it goes too rigid for me.

But now I’m quite interested in this transparent hose posted above. Hmmm...

I have a barbed adaptor to join two pieces of hose together and have black electrical tape wrap around multiple times to keep it watertight also works for repairs or use self-amalgamating tape or both.
