Van insurance ripoff in Ireland (ROI)

So I just found a van that would perfectly suit my needs at the moment.

Tiny little 2008 Renault Kangoo - green and absolutely spotless!

Love it, but insurance companies dont..

They ask me for a whopping 1200€ a year to get it insured. I have 6+years of no claims bonus and never lost a point on my driving licence. Asked for it to be insured only for commercial use and the only driver would be myself.

Just curious - how much do you pay for your van insurance?

I had a 2.5l tranny fully comp with wife named driver business cover for both of us full no claims protected for £400 quid 2 years ago

thats nothing my transit is 1300 per year and i have 7 ncb

New shape combo, £175 fully comp with wife on and business/social use. I'd be saying WTF to be honest. I'm 37 with full no claims - and ginger!!!
