I'm guessing it can be dangerous so was wondering what you all do how to know when to call it quits that day ?

I will not work in a thunderstorm, forecasts potential thunderstorms till think Thursday. Worked all day Monday when potential thunderstorm anticipated and not a drop of rain...will do same today, not bothered with the potential part of the thunderstorm...just actual happening thunderstorm...then down tools.I'm guessing it can be dangerous so was wondering what you all do how to know when to call it quits that day ?
The loudness of the thunder clap will tell you how close the lightening is. You then use your intelligence to finish of and leave.I'm guessing it can be dangerous so was wondering what you all do how to know when to call it quits that day ?
Yeah just get out there, half the time what they forecast never actually happens or it does happen but less severe than anticipated. As this bloke says...if it does get that bad...just go home and pick up where you left offNo different to a forecast of potential rain, fill the van and get out to work and if they happen to get the weather right then pack up and go home if the weather gets really bad.
As a general rule the louder it gets the closer it is, if it's black above and about to chuck it down I'll pack up. I find the wind tends to pick up if it's getting close and if it does then I'm off to the van.I'm guessing it can be dangerous so was wondering what you all do how to know when to call it quits that day ?
Keep working... if I'm not seeing direct fork lightning then carry onI'm guessing it can be dangerous so was wondering what you all do how to know when to call it quits that day ?
cars act as a faraday cage in thunderstorms, just don't touch any metal parts. In Africa we were taught that one of the safest places to be during a lightening storm was inside your car.

Lee Trevino was struck on a golf course. He was asked what he would do next time. He said he'd get his 1 iron out and point it to the sky because even God cant hit a 1 ironFirst time I've seen that. Thanks. Most informative.
Nobody would had siphicated equipment to test this in Africa. Sadly people who got killed by lightning were ones who took shelter under trees.
