Would you take this job on and if so, how much would you charge for it?

New to window cleaning, only been going a couple of months and I do it traditionally, went to visit a lady today and not sure where to start really, job seems incredibly difficult with 2 conservatories and a stables included and 4 veluxes, done the best I could with pictures. 80% of the windows are boxed sash windows, even the doors are mostly boxed sash.

Would you take this job on as traditional, and if so, how much would you charge? Limited to 5 pictures but if you can give me an idea on how much you would charge for say 1 window at the front that will help a lot and the conservatories as well.

You can buy a smaller squeegee to fit into the panels, how long do you think it will take you ? If I was already there doing houses and thought it was going to take me an hour I'd charge between £50 and £60. Maybe in the middle and say £55. If it's a house where your having to travel 5 kins from your last house and 5 mins to your next then if probably ask for £70.

If it's going to take an hour and a half I'd just half whatever your happy with from making in an hour. It's alot of work so be confident when speaking to her about the price. If your a bit hesitant with it and not really sure they will pick up on that and maybe haggle if they think you could come down on price. If they do try haggle I'd also make them aware every 2 or 3 years there will be increases in line with inflation too. As if there not really wanting to pay the price there paying now then your going to have the same problem when you put it up in a few years.

Personally think that's a dodgy job for an experienced tradder, let alone a newbie. The amount of hard to reach windows would make it a very slow and dangerous job. in my opinion, and should really be done by WFP. Having a close look the house looks as if they have either just moved in or they don't take care of such a nice big house. If it's the latter then I would either put them down as a one off clean or price shoppers so would charge a price where it pays very well.

I appreciate being a newbie all enquiries are important but sometimes you have to say no to the work and, again personally, think this job is one to walk away from, let us know how you get on.

i did something similar when i first started off -mainly to be able to say i could hack doing it! in all weathers . Actually the fella who owned it put me on to a lot of regular work locally so it was worthwhile . Eventually a window pane broke [2mm thick glass ]and i replaced it gratis .Changing a pane from a ladder was hairy . Then shortly after i cancelled the job .If you want the job i say think of a rock bottom price ,you know its low too -then double it and thats the firm price .

3 floors and dormer windows for a newbie working on his own?. We, occasionally go that high to do blocked downpipes on a ladder, that is footed, but no way would we do windows that high off a ladder.

You aren’t going to get to those dormers either with a ladder they are set to far up the roof . That’s a difficult job even for experienced cleaners and just not worth the risk from a ladder , WFP yes a piece of cake

If I was you ide take it on but you won’t get to the dormer windows so just say can’t get to them it’s doesn’t look very hard to me even trad but when I stated out working for a friend I was on the triple ladder most weeks and ledge walking ect but them days were a long time ago back in the days were people were doing ladder slides and racing each other every day if I was you use invest in a backpack set to get you started with wfp
