Employee going sick at last minute

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Some would argue you could be a liability if you are felling unwell and still go to work.

Or give him a few hard hard days on the ladder maybe that will teach him....or maybe he Would give you notice.either is good right?

Do they have permanent or part time contracts? Is there a probationary period when you take them on?You need to tell him to grow the **** up or tell him go fuvk off. Unless his maladies are genuine.........

I would employ people with kids and rent to pay. Gotta put food on table and roof over heads innit.
permanent contracts . im having a word tmoro. the last minute texts are stopping forever .

Sounds like that fella is full of :turd::turd:.......infact, I'd go as far to say that he's soooo full of :turd::turd: that his breath stinks.

Ask him for a 'sicknote' from his Doctor.....and when he returns to work after his lazy-day-off (sickday I mean...honest /emoticons/wink.png) tell him that in your opinion, that he still seems 'a bit under the weather' and as you're a caring employer, you need a 'fit to return work certificate' from his Doctor.

next time it happens im gonna say, take rest of week off ;unpaid/ see ow u feel after - that could backfire however as that week will be killing for everyone else

thing is iv invested a lot of time in getting my workforce up to scratch and to get rid wont help me in the short term not now im deep in it with a big load ,run up to xmas etc . theres precious little time to train up a novice

this is my latest challenge, to get them back on track

Employment law says you can self certificate for the first 7 days so don't need to get a doctors note

£30 an hour hour boar and I'm your new *****..lol

Then he will be entitled to redundancy severance pay plus any holiday pay due etc

You also have to be able to prove that you are downsizing and not just making it up to get rid of someone then get someone else to do his job straight after.

If he hasn't worked for you that long you could always claim downsizing and make him redundant?

Depends how long he has worked there, severance pay is only after quite awhile.

And who do you need to prove it to? lots of friends I have had have been made "redundant" in the past which really meant given the sack.

You are not entitled to redundancy pay until you have worked somewhere for over 2 years..then it is only 1 week pay per year of employment up to 12 years

But you would have to be down a man for a while as you can't make someone redundant if his role still exists

REALY o_O!!!!

Goes to show how much I know.....never had a day-off sick in my life.

Never understood the mentality of people who 'throw sickies' on a regular basis.......also.........

Isn't it odd that these people who are often 'sick'.....are never 'sick' on the weekend or when their holidays are due.....*******:mad:.
