Best work trousers

I just wear trackie bottoms no branding on them. Just find I can work quicker in them compared with builders trousers or jeans.

I agree with you that builders trousers aren't ideal, or the most comfortable for fast moving, light physical work like ours. Jeans are a disaster in damp environments and don't look good either. Wet cotton or denim wicks the warmth away from the body.
I wouldn't wear "trackies" though. They look as lazy and skanky as the nickname sounds and will let down your professional image. You would look better with lightweight hiking trousers, for sure. If you get decent, comfortable ones (navy blue or black is my preference) you will look better and should feel better. You will be able to work just as fast but your legs will get more air and you will feel fresher as well as looking more professional. Brands I have used include : Regatta, HiGear, Craghopper, among others. Lightweight, and usually with zip off legs. My current favourite brand is Freedom Trail. They weigh virtually nothing which feels a bit strange at first but they are super comfortable and plenty warm.

Save the "trackies" for when you're cutting your grass or lounging at home with your work done. Trust me. ?

I've tried hiking pants before but they didn't last long.

Scruffes trackies last a lot longer as they have padded areas. They're designed for workmen.

I don't really dress to impress customers btw.

Haha! Perhaps you should try walking on your feet instead of on your knees. ?
I get good service out of all my clothing and I seriously doubt you're more of a worker than the rest of us. I didn't claw my way out of the amniotic sac yesterday. I've heard plenty of people over the years who claim they are tougher on equipment than everybody else because they're tougher and harder working. Very few measured up to their own appraisal in reality. ?
Yep! don't worry about customer perception. It's not important.
"Horse to water" as the saying goes. ?

The worst work trousers are those heavy "builders" trousers, lots of ridiculous flappy pockets and hammer loops that snag on gate clasps, door handles & equipment

If your working in this trade the best trousers are those that you'd wear when out walking or on expedition.

Lightweight self wicking quick drying & comfortable

I mostly wear regatta Action trousers or the stockpile of British army soldier 95 or MTP combat trousers
Can't beat 1995 trousers in dpm.

Only 20 quid to buy nowadays and still as good as they were back then.

What you going on about? I never said I work harder than you? I just wear stuff designed for working in as I find it lasts longer than stuff designed for walking in the countryside in...

I don't why people are getting so hung up on work trousers,  for those that make assumptions based on past experience those work/builders trousers aren't heavyweight, things have moved on, I wear Dewalt Barstow ones and they are as light weight as other trousers and fit properly not like a bag of ? they also go with my choice of uniform,

How people can say that a pair of trousers isn't great for fast movement, it's your arms that go like the clappers in this job not your legs,

I don't know IG, we do a fair amount of striding and dancing about if you think about it. I have no objection to work trousers, though I find hiking trousers more comfortable and perfectly long lasting. It's the trackies I was mainly trying to encourage him away from as a fellow small business owner also representing my own enterprise and viewing it from the client's point of view. The customer's perception is important to me. Whether it is to other folk, I can't say.

When I next get a new competitor in my locality, I hope he's wearing trackies and a string vest when he starts canvassing. ?

I tend to rock on my feet with a bit of dancing thrown in as well, I agree about perception which is why I wear a logoed uniform I was the first one for years to do so plus sign written van etc it's like this when I pull into a street and start cleaning

If you can dance to that while working you can do my windows anytime. ?

Haha! I can't dance for tuppence. Too self conscious and embarrassed. Wish I wasn't but there it is.

Good on you ?

I like to think I can shake some moves when I'm in the zone flicking the pole about at work and amongst the rocks in my sea kayak, though.

If you're an old fella may be ?
Haha! No shame or embarrassment for miles on the clock and life experiences under the belt.
We're all going the same direction at the same speed and to the same ultimate destination, sadly.

Some of us started the journey a bit earlier than others, so will probably get there sooner, I'll give you that. ??
