I must agree with richard on that one,.. ppl naively think it's easy to gain work.

Yes it is if you do it for next to nothing but the skill is gaining work that is profitable to do in the first place and then most importantly keeping it.

Good luck /emoticons/biggrin.png

There are also well established window cleaners that have sown up most of the work too don't you know.

There are 2.5 million homes in the country not forgetting all the commercial too.....the work is there, just need to go find it

i disagree, yes there are lots of window cleaners, but even the big boys dont have any areas 'sewn up'.

If you go there with the right attitude looking professional etc etc then you should be able to pick up business.

Don't forgot it also depends where you live, look on our maps on here and I'm sure you'll start to see a patern already showing certain areas are well serviced and some areas empty, if you leave away from the grouped areas, you'll be fine.

I have only just started reading this thread. I think the situation regarding the amount of windies must vary from area to area. I cant say that I have noticed any more window cleaners round here. There certainly is work out there, but again, that will vary from area to area. I started a year ago. My books are full now.. I last canvassed for about an hour last January. I have concentrated on doing a quality job...frames and sills as well, taking a little more time to ensure everything is tip top. People really appreciate this. Neighbours will often notice this and before you know it, you are cleaning theirs as well. Also having lots of happy customers means lots of recommendations.

good attitude there

I'm sure if you use google maps etc would give you a better understanding of how many listed window cleaners are in your area.

A lot more are not listed at all on the web as you may find out just by speaken with them while out and about.

true

Just from looking online earlier at a few sites I notice that: Cornwall, wales and Leeds areas are flooded with windows, everywhere else is a bit more spaced out.

After looking hard I can only find about 9 windies in a 10 mile radius of me online, we can safely say there is probably triple that, which really does not worry me because in my area there is not many green areas so its all built up. More than enough work for 30 odd windies in my area

i think theirs plenty of work out their in my area /emoticons/smile.png

just got to hit the right spot

Last 2 days I've seen yet another 6 but they were closer to town so not too close, 2 tradders on same house, 1 tradder doing a garage (had a backpack in berlingo though), 3 kitted out vans.

The most window cleaners I've see working in the same street was eight all working for themselves on different houses /emoticons/biggrin.png
