Best heater to prevent van system freezing up?

Can anyone recommend what the best van heater would be to stop the big freeze up of everything.. I have a hot water system with frost-stat but when it drains my batteries I am still frozen solid. Many thanks,

Homebase are currently doing an oil filled radiator at half price, only £10!

Its the same one I’ve been using for years

Thanks Steve, is it reasonable to run?  Homebase here closed and reopening next month as Bunnings.

If your keep it on a low setting so the thermostat kicks in when it’s reached around 2 degrees in your van it won’t cost too much ?

If you can get electric to the van can you put the batteries on charge? Then the hot system can do the frost protection

Ah, ok.  Where I park the van I don't have electric, but if I park it where I normally park my car, I can resolve that.  The frost protection seems to cope under normal circumstances, but with these conditions it completely drained the batteries. Perhaps I don't need a heater as well. Thanks.
