2010/11 i was doing a bit of gritting for a mate at night on top of my window work

I remember driving back in -13° and dropping about a tonne of spare grit on the a1m for the police as nobody could get up the south mimms slip road

Bloody cold that winter

And the frost killed my garlic down the allotment lol

@Chris33 I remember that winter and trying to drive when the roads were well and truely fcuked. Only reason weather is cold at the mow is becasue of high pressure on the continent that wont budge and is sitting over the SE of england. But by weekend we should have milder, wetter weather

Man we had it bad up here. I was still working in care and everyone was on standby with like two or three loads of clothing..to do back to back sleepover shifts if needed.

Some didn't get off shift for 72 hours (sleep at night obviously). Nuts

To be fair it's not been a bad winter though lads. Mild in comparison to 2010/11 I think it were

I loved that winter. I worked as a delivery driver and we had loads of go home early days as roads were too bad. Had some good fun with the other lads getting vans stuck etc.

Not so funny now though when it's your own time and money at stake.

Normally i would have just gone trad mate but these weren't trad houses

Would have needed to go home and get my trad pole and excelerator for some above conny ones

My daughter had a baby recently. She phoned me this morn coz she weren't well and hadn't slept much during the night. Her husband had to go to work today. So I sat round hers in the warm for 4 hours babysitting while she slept. Certainly better than working. I did clean 10 houses this afternoon but was very cold.

Ah I would of normally but I had yesterday off to go on the lorry. I had arranged to do a house on wed. Had to ring her to change it to today once the lorry was arranged. Couldn't ring her again to make it Friday.

Its good but you need loads of it to be effective, so works out expensive

If I'm not out by 9 I'm probably not going out. I like to start early and finish as early as poss.

Coldest wind of the winter by a mile . Temp. Hovering around 0 all day , last house of the day frozen brush jets , first time that's happened, stumped me for 5 mins lol . Had to get ladder off to finish , mop even stuck to the ladder .... it taken me until now to warm back up ..... skin to skin with the wife works every time :thumbsup::thumbsup:
