I back mine up to the cloud, I thought Squeegee did daily backups' so all of yours should be safe
Your not backed up correctly unless you backup your backup.

Squeegee does do daily backups. But you should also do your own backups and store the data in a different place from where Squeegee stores there’s. This isn’t anything against Squeegee, it’s just best practice (technically you should have a third, offline, off-site backup. Say a hard drive at a family member’s house).

anyone-have the download file for George as I want to update my current computer but I have never downloaded The file to install on another pc.
if anyone as downed file they could send me would really appreciate it.

I can't get hold of anyone from George. I need to import all of the data in George to another programme but it needs to be saved in a CSV file for me to do it. Does anyone know if and how I can do this?

Paul Saunders is no longer available and has closed George operations. He was suffering from poor health. I hope he is still ok.

System, then Merge/Export, Jobs and then tick the boxes you want to export. I found that all I need is all dates next due on set to 1st Oct 2022 to 18/01/2024. My dates were set on 16/03/2015. Changing the next due dates didn't make a different to the report. I ignored the debts, but you may decide not to. I was just backing my database up.
It backs up as a CSV file. If you open it and then save it as a xlsx file.

Hi My computer hard drive died and has now been replaced, tried to reinstall George from my memory stick but received error message error loading George.DLL also the request to URL was not found on this server.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it as I cannot run my business without George.

Hopefully you have been backing George up to a separate drive. I copy mine to One Drive. Download George demo on your new hard drive and then follow the instructions.

Q: How do I transfer George to another PC?

A:
You have a choice of 3 ways to transfer your data...

Load & Exit George - when it asks if you want to backup to another drive say yes and backup to USB Flash drive.


OR - Email the file BACKUP.GEO from the C:\George\Backup folder on the old PC and pick up the eMail
on the new one.

OR - If you are a registered user - make sure you have the latest version of George on the old PC, do an internet backup and let us know when you've done it. We can then eMail it to you for collection on the new PC.


Whichever way you choose to do it, install the latest George demo on the new PC together with our Data Restore program (when they are installed, run each of them once and then close it to initialise the links in Windows).

Save the backup file somewhere convenient (DONT try to open it) and then drag it onto the Data Restore program icon.

Whichever way you do it, the Data Restore program will pop up and offer to restore your data - just click the Restore button.

Make sure George isn’t running when you do it.

Hi. I’ve managed to get the latest version 3.8 version 1 from an archive site and installed it and then restored my data from the most recent backup.
George installs fine and so does the data but when I open it, it still says welcome to the free edition of George.
I go to system/settings/users and my business name is in there but my registration number is missing.
Am I doing something wrong here?
I have a working version running on an older tablet, 3.7 release 9, that I’ve now replaced for a Surface pro 9. Hence the need for moving data over.
The software works fine on windows 11 on another machine so I don’t see why I might be having issues.
Should be straight forward right?
But it says I’m running the free edition after a data restore.
Can anyone help with this please?
