you nailed that in one koopmaster, the o/p in my opinion thinks that for 10k thats it up and running and making profit, forget about the damn hard work it takes to get a decent living, forget the everyday(or so it seems)things going wrong and more expense/crappy days you can't work,if it was me i would forget spending 10k first, learn some business skills then-trad after that, will your area substaine another windie? what are the average prices? and how does that equate to an hourly rate? how far would you have to travel to gain work?-your people skills can you talk to anyone whether it be an earl or an oap and still get that job?,sorry mate there is a lot more being a simple window cleaner than just lashing out 10k on a van and wfp gear than you think, its called business, and on here thats what we all have, many many new people forget this small little thing and think window cleaning is a path to sucessYou need trad expirence from the start. What are you going to say if a customer wants the inside cleaned. Sorry only wfp. What about commercials. Some want inside and out. Mine do. It was the easiest way to start and clean so you can see if you want to do window cleaning for the next 20 - 40 years. Otherwise go ahead and spend on new kit and call me if you give up and want to sell it. Cheap of course..
