    am glad this came up. iv just got a water butt this week and court a bit of water only bout 2 litres as haven't had much rain. iv just tested some and it came out at 237 ppm. so am doing somthing wrong. the roof is clean and so is the guttering so am thinking of washing out the butt with some pure water and then trying agane what do u think

    the roof could still be dirty but look clean aswell as the guttering, are you filtering the water before it goes into the water butt?

    the water butt could be dirty too that can cause this!

    look quite easy to build your own really, just use a bucket with the same idea as he has done!

    Yeah, we'll if your gonna have hosepipes linking all over you might as well put a diverted in every downpipe and connect a hose up
