Does this stuff work instantly or is it like one of those spray and leave apps they can take months before you see the results?
All the good ones are gonna need time to do their thing. If you’re avoiding pressure washing you’ll need to give it time to kill the roots as well.Does this stuff work instantly or is it like one of those spray and leave apps they can take months before you see the results?
They will kill the stuff in a few hours but it will take months for it to gradually come off the roof with rain etcDoes this stuff work instantly or is it like one of those spray and leave apps they can take months before you see the results?
Ye, was trying to stay away from the pressure washing side of things.?All the good ones are gonna need time to do their thing. If you’re avoiding pressure washing you’ll need to give it time to kill the roots as well.
I thought that but I was under the impression that the customer might want instant results, especially paying so much. They will kill the stuff in a few hours but it will take months for it to gradually come off the roof with rain etc
Only way to get instant results on a roof is to pressure wash it , scraping it and using bio or hypo to kill and remove lickens will take several months to be honestI thought that but I was under the impression that the customer might want instant results, especially paying so much.
That's why I'm busy with PW roofs, decking, patios and driveways, instant results. Most customers like end of day results and puts a smile on their face when I send them the before and after photos.Only way to get instant results on a roof is to pressure wash it , scraping it and using bio or hypo to kill and remove lickens will take several months to be honest
Ahhh right. I was under the assumption that it would come up instantly as when I’ve practiced on my own property(mainly flagging) it’s come up right away. Maybe my flags were pretty clean already. Sorry if I’m coming across as I bit ignorant but I’ve zero experience in this type of cleaning although eager to learn. How do you sell this type of cleaning to the customer as if I was paying x amount I would certainly want to see an instant return?Only way to get instant results on a roof is to pressure wash it , scraping it and using bio or hypo to kill and remove lickens will take several months to be honest
The roof will change colour within an hour using hypo but to get the licken to come off will take several months it will be dead within a few muinits but it gradually comes off with rain so takes time .Ahhh right. Would you charge the same for power washing a roof as opposed to soft washing it? I’ve seen some guys PWing a small roof near me and they charged em £200 and in all honesty it looked like they did a really good job. I was under the impression that power washing doesn’t kill all the spores and without treatment the growth will come back super quick, plus the risk of damaging tiles. Tbh though they was only there a couple of hours so wasn’t bad money. Looked dodgy as hell thought. I’ve walked some dodgy roofs window cleaning in my time and to be up there power washing is whole different ball game. Some of the roof cleaning specialists that I’ve been in contact with whilst researching also offer repair and replacement of tiles and render included in their price. Is this popular within cleaning as it’s not something that I’m wanting to offer? That's why I'm busy with PW roofs, decking, patios and driveways, instant results. What is the difference between render and roof tile build up?The roof will change colour within an hour using hypo but to get the licken to come off will take several months it will be dead within a few muinits but it gradually comes off with rain so takes time .
we do a lot of soft washing of houses and a few roofs I explained that the roof will take time to come clean but the walls will be clean and by the time we leave .
You are right pressure washing alone can and does encourage re growth there will be spores left behind which will rapidly re grow most will hypo or bio a roof after pressure washing it , tk slow diwn this process , we live in a very damp area and re growth happens with in weeks if you don’tWould you charge the same for power washing a roof as opposed to soft washing it? Roofs will get a heavier infestation of moss, algi ,bacterial growth , lickens as they are rarely cleaned ,most walls are cleaned and painted every few years so less build upWhat is the difference between render and roof tile build up?
To a degree it is , when doing a wall it’s apply hypo mix let it dwell , scrub with wfp brush re apply hypo mix scrub and repeat the process until it’s clean then rinse m see pictures belowI thought that algae and lichen is the same weather on a vertical wall or a tiled roof? Again sorry for my ignorance but I suppose you’ll never learn if you never a ask?
What would you recommend for a treatment on a roof thats not that bad with lichen or algae and just want to restore the original colour of their tiles. You are right pressure washing alone can and does encourage re growth there will be spores left behind which will rapidly re grow most will hypo or bio a roof after pressure washing it , tk slow diwn this process , we live in a very damp area and re growth happens with in weeks if you don’t

I’ve seen them pics before and they look unreal? Hence why I was trying to push the same results on a roof clean. The pw lads are charging next to nothing whilst achieving very good results so have some good completion although I’m wandering how long their results will last as some they did not that long ago are already starting to show.To a degree it is , when doing a wall it’s apply hypo mix let it dwell , scrub with wfp brush re apply hypo mix scrub and repeat the process until it’s clean then rinse m see pictures below

Personally I would hypo it , might also consider applying bio after as they claim it has residual preventative re growth properties , from my experience I dint think it dies but I offer it as an option to the customer if they are happy to pay extra for it we will apply itWhat would you recommend for a treatment on a roof thats not that bad with lichen or algae and just want to restore the original colour of their tiles.
Most of my customers are regular jobs so they trust me when I tell them it will take months for licken to come off a roof , it be fair we do 20 house wash downs to one roof job , most down hear dont want to pay what it would costI’ve seen them pics before and they look unreal? What is your sales pitch to the customer regarding staggered results?
That’s what I was thinking. Were did you get the parts for your wheeled roof sprayer? I’m loving the concept of it but £135 seems a bit much to buy one ready made from Marshall.Personally I would hypo it , might also consider applying bio after as they claim it has residual preventative re growth properties , from my experience I dint think it dies but I offer it as an option to the customer if they are happy to pay extra for it we will apply it
