    After 3 months of getting prepared/knowledge etc, mostly from you good fellows on here, it all went bang today. Took the van for its MOT that I bought in November and basically it's fooked underneath. Not even able to be welded to death. I've been driving around for 2 months in a death-trap that some fella from Warsash sold me. System is great inside so I now need to find another van with noo money lol.....Best of it is, I've had a cracking week building up 30-40 jobs to get me going starting next week !!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

    Cant even get hold of the c'#] unsurprisingly:devil::devil:

    :gush::gush::gush:

    oh so sorry aide...been there a few times myself...maybe there again when my mot comes up in march...painful
    Go and get another van or anything if you have the jobs...you can at least get earning...

    I am the great procrastinator...so my vicar friend tells me....and I took one of mine for the mot and ended up like you ...not worth the money to get it mended...I was really attached but had to let it go and suddenly I was lost as I realised I had no wheels...

    so I wandered around the local garage where my car had died and just looked at all the different cars...any would do...but some on show didnt have a current mot and the other thing I needed was roof bars for my ladders and lucky for me I ended up with my current car...with a cracked windowscreen and scratches all over and no key fob working and the air bag light on ..etc etc ..the guy that sells em doesnt really do em up much..

    so hope you get mobile its something we have all faced on here...many tales of woe with cars vans on here....:eek:

    good luck....and keep us informed.

    Always get a car or van with 12 months MOT. Then you know you have 12 months or sue the garage that MOTed it
    You got 30/40 jobs in 1 week? Canvasing I guess

    No I was given 20 by a windy friend and got 15 off Facebook. Cheers fellas, its just anther one of life's little tests I guess but **** timing. Feel a bit of a prat but the van seemed sound to the naked eye, until it was put on a ramp today and stuck together with fibre glass !!

    I paid £1700 thinking the van would do me a year or 2 as it's value was about £350. The Brodex system with everything else I needed is what I bought it for with the idea of buying another van in a year or 2. As it happens the Van looked good and is a nice drive so I "was" as happy as Larry. No my brother in law is welder which is another reason an older Van wasn't going to be a problem BUT there has to be something to weld too !!!

    Just goes to show hindsight is a wonderful thing and life is a steep learning curve as we all drop big clangers in our lifetime. I have dropped quite a few and I'm sure I wil drop a few more before my time is up.

    Was it a private sale or from ebay?

    Started with Ebay Smurf but a Private sale if I go down the legal route. Just a lying sh'' I'd normally suss out but all seemed good until today !! Live and learn...just an expensive learning curve. I'll now need to pick up a van and change the system over. Fun times ahead...all this with new customers next week !! I can bang the customers out in it (well most of them) then have a 2 week window to sort the van. Bearing in mind I was umming and rrring over a £30 brush last night, a new van will be fun lol
