it’s brighter than Blackpool illuminations
Drove through them on Friday. They were supposed to switch off in early November same as normal but due to Covid they extended them into Jan for first time ever!!! The look good this year, lots of new control gear producing some great colour changing effects.... ?

I had two days there in October to see the lights. Agree with you, they looked very nice ?

Their design and storage warehouse is awesome. They have finally started using RGB led systems now. Less weight and better overall lighting sequences

Lightworks is great to wander round ? been a few times as well as the old site that was closer to central pier and next to old tram sheds - now houses.

My partner had her picy in the illuminations back in 2007 and we bought the image after ? she has now banished it to the loft ? as it was an Andy Warhol inspired image - think Marge Simpson colour scheme ?

They have been using IP addressable RGB LEDs for quite a while now, about 10 years. They initially had custom ones manufactured before they were readily available about 10 years ago. The lights on the tower were replaced with them about 6 years ago. Unfortunately they did not survive the salt and winter weather very well. So they replaced them all with LightWorks new spec ones earlier this year and now all good. They are much more reliable as the old single colour ones had a habit of taking a whole section out when one blew - not always just sometimes! New ones are so much brighter and reliable.

The new (2016) arches at north and south ends are impressive and consume between 4.5 and 6Kw of electricity and that's LEDs!!!!!

They have just won some extra funding so hopefully some really impressive stuff coming, but we can't talk about that ?

Never seen so many chip shops in my life as Blackpool.
We did the sky walk on the glass at the top of the tower, which was good. Went to Madam Tausauds which was good. Then had a walk around the back streets of Blackpool, which was a right ?hole

Yes some of back streets are very poor. There is too much accommodation so it's a race to bottom on prices then they can't afford to invest, vicious circle. Then the hotels get sold for peanuts and dodgy landlords try and unofficially turn them into HMOs and council does nothing....

They are starting to turn things round. Prom looks great after £80 million and new 5* hotels and big chains going up plus new tram link to station and megga new attraction coming over next 7 years. Lots of investment coming.

Wouldn't want to see the power factor across phases
