Gutter vacs

Loving this post as trying to decide panther or atom at the moment. Not intending on pushing gutter clearing but don't want to sub it out to others who also window clean.
How bad are the aluminium poles weight wise? I mean, I can read the weights on the description, but what does that mean when they are 25ft in the air ?.
I'm not the strongest of individuals so have been thinking about carbon. Having said that, I might be looking at one or 2 gutter cleans a week/day so would the extra expense be worth it?
Thank you
@DansClearView I bought one just for regular customers with small to medium houses as I didn't want to keep giving the work away. Bigger jobs I just pass on to someone. I have a muscle and rib injury so I have push fit carbon poles which are fine. I would totally understand someone buying aluminium though and they are alot harder wearing.

I'm no body builder, well unless you count building my belly :) I have only used the ali poles and I have found them to be OK, I have had them up at 3rd story level and over a medium size conny without straining myself. One reason I went for ali over carbon, other than cheaper, was the GVS ali are 4ft, carbon 5ft. 4 ft fits widthway in my van between bulkhead and tank. So takes up space that wasn't used. It's a bit of a squeeze getting them in but I don't do it very often so no real issue.
I have read that the carbon are a bit more whippy than ali but I'm not sure on that one.
If you are looking at weight make sure you compare like to like - i.e. GVS ali is only 4ft so needs 5 poles to get 20ft, carbon is 5ft so only needs 4 poles etc!!!

To be honest if doing two storey houses most of the time alloy poles aren’t that bad , if using them at shallow angles over conservatory roofs and extensions and they get a bit of silt stuck inside them then yes the weight will increase but if only doing a few jobs here and there they will probably be fine , they are more robust than carbon as well

Would this be any good happy for it to only last a year for thr price
Looks good - 2 year warranty on everything apart from recoil starter - which won't be needed very often as elec start. Seems too good to be true worth a go with a credit card to cover yourself.
I have read the Parker brand is a budget one but not too bad. Should keep you going for a while.
Remember to change the oil after a few hrs run in and you will need a 16A plug to 13A socket adapter.

Would definitely work though. If the adapter like a 110 plug to standard house type

Perfect thanks mate I would be happy to both you and spruce some beer tokens both of you give sound advice.

So with that lead the generator can with stand everything the gutter vac would throw up would pop fuses or anything
If the gutter vac blows fuses then there is something wrong!
With a multi motor vac it is always advisable to wait 10 to 30 seconds between each one being switched on to reduce the surge.

The company said that but if you /think it will run with the add one plug it's worth a shot for that money

Just put an RCD on your extension cable, it should trip before the customers
You probably know but an RCD (Residual Current Device aka earth leakage breaker) will only shut the device off in the even of a fault. It will not protect an over current event. If you are plugged into a customers radial circuit (protected by a 15 amp MCB Miniature Circuit Breaker) that can trip before a 13 amp fuse would blow. Problem is you never know, and the average customer wont know what 'fuse/breaker' is protecting the socket you are plugged into.

Most times just starting each motor with a delay between each switch on will be enough not to over current trip a customers fuse board ( consumer unit).

Last week the customer opened the garage door and told me to plug into the cheap extension. I did what he said and I don't think I got to the third motor and it tripped. I then plugged my extension straight into the wall socket and looked about for the consumer unit. One breaker was down and put it back up and did the job. I could have done with another extension rather than leave the freezer unplugged for 10 mins. Made sure everything was up and running before I left because I don't want a freezer bill next month. Got back home and immediately ordered another 15m extension which I have 3 of now. I'm looking at keeping the generator in the van in the winter with the vac if I get that new van. Received an email today from a massive HQ, they want the front of there building cleaned. Hypo and PW I guess, last one I priced £6k and never heard back so this will be interesting.

I didn't actually, I thought it would trip first. You are warned about starting each motor
