Don't forget to give her a x for going to the shop for you /emoticons/biggrin.png

I have a box of bits and bobs in my van, you never know what might go wrong on any given day. It's got connectors, screwdrivers, 'O' rings, John Guest fittings, Rectus 21 couplings, PTFE tape etc etc in it. It can save hours of faffing about

I must admit that racking system I've got in my van is brilliant as all my bits and bobs are stored neatly away.

Just have to remember where I put the thing I'm looking for now /emoticons/biggrin.png

Indeed;)

When doing jobs by tap water like cleaning outside of guttering, fascias, soffits, cladding conservatory roofs etc don't forget to check customers have an outside tap otherwise it will have to be done by hand or pure water wfp instead. That is unless maybe you can arrange to use next door tap instead. You can also get kitchen tap hose connection kits but to be honest I've never used them as they seem more hassle than they are worth.

It makes sense to get properly kitted up with all these bits and pieces, otherwise it could be a source of constant frustration.....and valuable time lost.

For example a large job that I did yesterday after clearing the gutters & downspouts by guttervac & ladders the washdown was done by wfp using tap water. To be honest if that property did not have outside taps I would have been screwed as would have needed more pure water than I could physically can carry in the van. I could have driven back home and refilled the tank but the job was 20 miles away so that was not a viable option either.

ahh thankyou mr smurf ....i am just thinking about what to buy next on my wfp quest and yes of course i could just buy the pole and connect it to a tap for cleaning gutters facias etc....you dont always have to use pure water....so maybe i should get my pole first...i have bad memories of that cheap wfp i bought of fleabay which just poured out water from all the joints and of course that went right down my arms.....

Thanks for all your help. The water fed pole worked with the new female connector. Phew!...thank goodness for that. I cannot believe how heavy it is when fully extended and pumping water, but its not so bad when you get it on a conny roof. You wfp guys (and gals) must have muscles like Charles atlas.

I took a photo!

oh bugger....it wont load

yes i was kinda wondering about the weight thing.....that maybe a good reason to pay a lot extra to get a lighter one....but then again.....too many outg0ings at the mo../emoticons/sad.png

They are a wee bit heavier than using trad gear for sure. That's why most wfp folk use decent make carbon poles and lite brushes.

Thank feck for that tay  How much did you get done and how were the results? You'll get used to the pole! If you're finding it heavy, try extending it using the gutter to support it as you pull, rather than push the sections out. Rest the pole on the gutter, pull the next section towards the ground, lock it, push what's been extended up using the gutter as support and pull the next section out and so on

To be honest I very rarely use pure water for cleaning outsides of guttering etc unless they haven't an outside tap then I have too.

I find the pressure and flow rate you can get when using a wfp connected directly to an outside tap is much greater than you could ever get from using a wfp 5 lpm 100psi pump flat out.

I would say that using a wfp to washdown gutters etc whatever type of water you use is alot more difficult (say 5 times) to do than just washing windows all day long. It takes its toll on your arms, shoulders, neck and back for sure so is probably why most wfp window cleaners around by me dont offer that kind of service anymore.

I can well imagine smurf. Wear and tear on the upper body must be great. The weight certainly surprised me.

Fiberglass poles not only are heavy but whippy too so most wfp cleaners soon want to change over to a lite and more ridged type hybrid or carbon pole.

The type of brush also plays a big part as some wfp brushes you can get are really heavy too so once on the end of the pole makes it even harder to clean with.

No matter what kit you have it's still bloody hard work

Thank Feck indeed Tuffers. I will use the gutter technique as suggested. I have only tried it on a couple of our windows. Booked in for the swimming pool for next tuesday and wednesday. At least I can now tell all the ladies that I have a massive erect 24 foot pole that shoots and spurts lots and lots of liquid out of its end and has the girth the size of 2 cumberland sausages!
