Advice needed re cleaning of swimming pool conny roof

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Tuffers, I noticed one of the female hozelocks did have an x. That was the third one that I tried and it stopped water coming out completely. The other two didnt have the x and just gushed water around the side of the male connector. When shoved in, water would feed into the pole and out of the brush but it was a poor flimsy fit and the male connector eased forward easily.

Will go and take a pic of the male and female connectors

That looks like quite a used female, am I right?

The male looks right. Have you got any brand new females without the plastic x you could try?

That's the only thing I can think of ATM mate.

Cheers tuffers. This one may be quite well used, but I nipped up to me dads and used one of his which was a fairly new one and got the same result. I will buy a new one and see if that works. Will ring the retailer as well, see if they have any ideas. I certainly cant turn up to the job with the pole as it is.

I had the water on at varied degrees of pressure.

And you should be able to hold the connection together to see if the tap water is coming out of the brush unless there's a blockage.

I did hold them together and water was squirting out of the brush freely.
Got to be the female then. I have one of those exact males on my trolley and never get a leak from it and it goes into a £1 B&Q female.

I use nylon male connectors and some male connectors either pop off with the pressure as they are worn out also the x ones are forced back like yours. Mainly when using customers hose's may I add not mine./emoticons/biggrin.png

Pop out and buy some female connectors localy and the best ones I found are chepo green ones or the orange type like gardiners sell. I would old get some brass ones too so at least you can try different ones that makes the best fit to that ali male connector you have. I also always carry spares in the van as you never know when your going to need them. Likwise get some screw on male tap connector as you will find some customer taps don't have one. Also best get a standard half inch graden hose reel if you don't already have a decent one then you will need to buy a hose reel to a tap pipe with the connectors on or you caould make your own whatever length you like.

I also find handy to have a few of those male to male joiners so when working on a big property those joiners will allow you to connect together more than one hose reel./emoticons/wink.png

Cheers smurf...will keep my eyes peeled for the brass variety.

Make sure it has no plastic x /emoticons/biggrin.png
Hope you sort it mate
Cheers tuffers....i have already written down for her......it cant go wrong, can it lol.

pool clean adjourned to next tuesday and wednesday.

It's a matter of trial and error to see which ones work best as they do wear out quite quickly too

( don't get x ones)/emoticons/biggrin.png

It makes sense to get properly kitted up with all these bits and pieces, otherwise it could be a source of constant frustration.....and valuable time lost.

Don't get stop connectors which is the proper name as no one will know what your missus is on about in the shops
